HP8648D

I have a HP8648D that AFAIK has never had the pulse option. When you use the RF ON/OFF key when the RF is on the area on the display that says RF OFF displays PULSE. I have tried the key combination of AM twice but nothing happens.

I bought this unit and replaced the back up battery. All of the calibrations came up okay. but the pulse thing is annoying.

The mobo may have been swapped out at some point.? I believe you can use the mobo utility from the Service and Support tool to remove it. Unfortnately, the software only runs on XP.? I have it on a system I use to calibrate the output levels. I'll check when I get home on Sat before sending you off on a wild goose chase.

Try holding the DEL button while powering up the unit. ?I've had this happen after replacing the battery before.

Did the DEL button trick work? I have confirmed the Motherboard Repair Utility can be used to enable/disable 1E6 Pulse
