Boonton 25A Power Meter Calibrator ¡°error.¡±


 

Recently someone has been selling brand new Boonton 25A Power Meter Calibrators on eBay at a great price. I picked one up to check my HP 478A mounts and 431C and 432A meters. I find a -5 dB error on all settings! The problem turns out to be that the 25A output (0-100 mW) is at 1 MHz. The 478A mounts are only rated down to 10 MHz and are seriously inaccurate below that.
