If anyone wants to try to duplicate what I am seeing with their 8566B

Feed a -50dBm 10 Mhz signal into the analyzer with the span set to 1 Mhz center to 10 Mhz, set the reference level to -50dBm, the signal? peak should be at the top of the screen.

Do you notice negative spikes extending about 3 divisions, I see blips as much as 4 divisions into the negative? This doesn't appear to be normal to me.

The negative peak spikes appear transient blips, they don't seem to be part of the normal negative peaks.
