8970B Noise figure unit

kevin kearns #91211 ? Managed to select the PAPST 3906M for the 8970B fan replacement, just waiting for the special fan connector and lead to arrive. ? Any tips on removing the installed fan? Looks tight. Does it need both lids off? Is it soldered or mated to the 8970 thru a connector? ?
