HP 8592b

Hi all, I am reading many posts as an amateur for many years and trying to understand. I am a Medical Doctor and just a hobbiest.
I bought an HP 8592b SA 1 year ago and It was working and all calibration procedures was successful.
I powered it up 1 week ago and got error 0030 and the battery was almost 0v and changed it today. But first the monitor not worked properly digged web and?
after -2001 hz procedure the display occured with? same method the cal amp and freq passed. But the YIG cal is unsuccesfull because of lost comb signal.
As I said I am just an amateur?cannot find any solution. Thanks for kindly reading this message.

Erkan, your post is hard to understand.? I have, I think, an 8594L that mostly works okay.? Is that similar?

just to make sure, did you connect the comb output to the rf input for the calibration?

what happens if you connect t he comb output to input and try to just look at it??

8594L is a totally different instrument

Thank you for your answer Bob.
Let me rewrite my problem since the beginning:
- There was not any problem about a year ago.
- I got error 0030 1 week ago
- Replaced the battery
- Screen was flickering after battery replacement, and I fixed that with calibration
- I calibrated FREQ and AMPTD without any problem
- I cannot calibrate YIG since I got "LOST COMB SIGNAL"

Hi amirb,

Yes I connect the COMB output to RF input.

I can see the COMB signal when I set frequency and span to 100mhz.

I can also see the COMB signal on the oscilloscope.

Any idea?

Do you have a question?

I cannot calibrate YIG, I got "LOST COMB SIGNAL" error. My question is how can I complete calibration of YIG.

Sorry not YIG, I meant YTF.

Erkan,

I don't have a service manual for your analyzer, but here is some information for the later models. Maybe that will help.
