I have one and I repaired it several times.
It's the low-end of HP SA line probably.

Hi:
I did long time ago!
Repair 1st mixer, IF board, replace crystal.
Re-Calibration etc....
You need to have some special male tools , extender board, plug- in extender.
You have enough equipments for Calibration.
Above should prepared before start to repair it.

I just got an HP-8558B.? Can someone help me with some questions?

For example, there is a frequency trace on the display but no input.? Is this stored in memory or something?

I can't seem to clear it.

There is no memory, it is the local oscillator feedthrough, it also indicates frequency 0.
