I just repaired the plastic switch for modulation on my HP8640B by fabricating a brass part that screws to the top of the slider.? I wrote a report but don't know how to attach a pdf to this group.? I am new to this group.? The 260 brass part was? 0.75" wide, half hard? .? I used three 2x56 screws 5/32 long so they do not pass through the plastic slider.? Several years ago the slider failed and i made the brass part.? The last month the other one failed so I had to replace it also.? The brass part is bent in two places and is triangular shape to cover the slider and narrowed to a width of about 0.15" to stick out the panel.? The bends need to be sharp so as not to rub on the front panel.

开云体育I also have a bad slider for modulation, in my case it's the AM. Is there anyone in the group that would undertake doing a 3-D printer version?? There has to be hundreds of 8640B's out there that need new sliders. Phil, KD6RM On 3/25/2018 2:59 PM,

My opinion is there is too much stress for the lever to not break that a SLA might not be tough enough in shear. That is why I made mine out of brass. Possibly there is a way to mold it rather than bend one. The whole slider has contacts on the under side so molding one piece would have to have those contacts. As far as plastic goes, ULTEM? might be strong enough. My idea was to keep the main part of the slider and just add a part on the top. I tried glue but the type of plastic is not very glue able. A report of the work is attached.

Up loading a file to the group is easy 1) Go to HP Agilent group on Yahoo ...... ( you may be asked for your Yahoo log-in info) 2) Once logged in you will see a tab marked "files" just under the blue Hp/Agilent test equipment banner. 3) Click on the files tab and on the right hand side near the top you will see a "button" marked UPLOAD 4) When you click on the Upload button on the files page it will open a Windows Explorer Window , navigate to the file you want to upload??? and click on that and follow the prompts Easy ... especially for Yahoo Neo Groups ...so far one of the things that works consistently on Yahoo groups James: I note with dismay that you have a couple of ArtekMedia scans posted on your google drive for public consumption without our permission . Please remove them ASAP. -DC manuals@... On 3/25/2018 8:46 PM, jafinch78@... [hp_agilent_equipment] wrote:
