HP8559A Display Chip
g0mjw
I an repairing an 8559A that I acquired recently, unfortunately the
LD120CJ ADC chip has filed, possibly also the LD121CJ as well. Does anyone have spares? I have tried the usual surplus outlets and none have any, apart from those with $250 minimum orders. I know how the circuit works and I will have to replace it if necessary, but a modern voltmeter would not look right. It has another fault with the gain level shifting on some bandwidth ranges - I assume this is the usual switch contact problem like I had on my 8558. Regards Mike |

Jose V. Gavila
Hello Mike,
I bought a set from a local (Spanish) supplier a year and a half ago... I will check if they still have some. Not cheap but far from $250 :-)! The same chipset was used by Tektronix in the DM501A DMM. It might be easier to find a DM501A than the chips. Good luck, 73 John Barnes VE3XRY ---------- Original Message ----------------------------------
