[Test-Equipment] HP 8620 help

John Miles

Thanks for the confirmation on the physical connector type, guys. I'll go
ahead and buy some SCSI interconnects.

I am hoping to come up with a PC interface to these units, complete with
phase-locking. Going to need access to the back connector to pretune the
plugin and detect what band is selected.

I am looking to do some interfacing to the 50-pin connector on
the back of a
(non-GPIB-compatible) HP 8620C. This looks very much like an old-school
SCSI connector, but unfortunately I've long since tossed all my old SCSI
cables.

Can anyone do me a huge favor of confirming/disputing this observation?
Could save a few bucks.

Thanks! -- john KE5FX

It would be far cheaper to look for some old telephone
connectors. There are probably dozens of scrap cables and
connectors laying on the ceiling tiles of the office where you
work... obsoleted when industry switched over to CAT5.
The phone guys never take that stuff out unless they are forced to.
