HP 9153A ROM checksum test fail

 

I have a dead HP 9153A disk drive, it had blown power supply fuses. The fuses were replaced, the power supply is fine.
?
The yellow error LED flashes when the disk drive is turned on. Nothing more happens.
I did the tests from the service manual and found that it doesn't pass the ROM checksum.
?
Does anyone have a ROM image please?
U7 and U15 stored at P27128A.
?
I would like to try flashing the ROM.

P27128A is an EPROM - you can't flash that. Get a new empty one an use a programmer.

Yes, you're right, I didn't notice. I would create new pieces but no image available.
 

One of the tricks on old equipment is to power the eprom from a separate power supply and adjust the voltage up or down until the checksum passes, then copy that data out and burn a new part.? Don't erase the old one ( if it has an erase window) until the new one works.

ROM has been found.
