Roger, You could just leave the can in place, clip its leads, and solder new caps to the leads. If it's not a leaded-type can, you might have to remove it. But, in that case, make sure that the can

They all do that. The 8656A has a lot of close-in phase noise. Not clean enough for any SSB work that requires an extremely stable reference. -- john KE5FX
