Re: HP 8568B bandpass filter alignment.
If this is about adjusting the LC and crystal filters at the 21.4MHz IF I don't think this is covered by the service manual. I adjusted my 8568B a few years ago and I had to make a set of special jumper links to bypass the RBW filter sections during the adjustment process.
?
Try looking in the performance and adjustment document 08568-90118 for info on how to make the jumper links and also how to adjust the filters. It is quite time consuming to do and the jumper links need to be able to interface correctly with the pins on the board.
?
The official bypass jumpers should slide and fit into place quite snugly if the correct connectors are used. However,?I made my own and it took me a while to find a way to reliably fit them so they gave a reliable 'push in' connection. I've still got them somewhere, but I'm not sure where!
?
It is definitely worth doing this if the filters have drifted out of adjustment.? |

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI wholeheartedly agree ! There's no question that Artek needs our business and deserves our support. Give them any and all business you can. Uploading their manuals to an open server will kill their business. And never forget that we would never be able to maintain and repair our instruments without such a great source for manuals ! Re: Anyone able to do GC or GC-MS on Hp ThinkJet Black ink ( for the Hp ThinkJet 2225 printer; Hp 9226a Or Hp 51604a ink cartridges ) ?
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýthe earlier HP thinkjet cartridges likely have a bit more glycerol than modern ink formulations based on the way the ink spread on the fibers at dried first few seconds.

Hi.
Unless the ThinkJet print head is significantly different to what HP do now in commodity ink jet cartridges, there is any number of Black refill kits on the usual Web market places that might do the job.? Just for the ink.
Agreed too, that the ThinkJet is a nice little thing.? I used one some 40 odd years ago, to make PC "EGA" screen dump hard copies, for a prototype "Time Of Flight" MS system I was loosely involved with back then.
Fun work, until the politics started.

HP 8568B bandpass filter alignment.
Hello, can anyone explain me how can i align the bandpass filters of the HP8568B to have it on SPEC?
My rig passes the self test but the values reported are a little out of spec. Non bad but i would like to have it in the<1db range.
But i don't' know what is the correct procedure to align the instrument.

Re: 85662A CRT
Hi, Don,
Thanks for replying.? I've got a near perfect one coming from Vladan, but I'm glad to know there are some out there available to the group, as there were others who also had some available, in varying states of life.? If the shipper ruins this one, we'll be in touch. Regards,
Matt

Trigger BOX E5818A
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHi, ? I have an E5818A, and I'm trying to find the procedure to send a SCPI command via LAN so that the E5818A sends a pulse on the BNC TTL1 or TTL2 port, is anyone familiar with this trigger BOX. |
Re: 85662A CRT
Matt, ??? Where are you located? I have 4 good 85662A CRT,s that have been stored properly for the last 20+ years.? They were pulls from 85662A's that had an arc over issue in the post lead - poor insulation issue. They were factory warranty repairs. I have known good post leads with each one. If interested call me, or email me.? I am in the Chicago, IL, USA metro area. Don Bitters donbitters@... cp 224-406-4059 |

I realize this is a 3 year old post but I found your message while writing the hp wiki entry for the device. The service manual (which I have a paper copy of now) doesn't talk about the power supply in detail. It has 3 or 4 RIFA capacitors and you will want to replace them. To separate the halves you need a set of medical forceps to squeeze a plastic PCB standoff that is used to hold the thing together internally. They were really worried about vibration with this thing. -Evan On Mon, Jul 5, 2021 at 9:19?PM Jeff Keyzer <jeff@...> wrote:

Re: Artek Manuals and HP 3325B
Yes, Artek finally came thru and I was able to repair the unit. ?Root cause of the errors was the 30MHz crystal in the VCO was not oscillating. ?Injecting external signal at the test point restored operation. ?I then removed the crystal and tested it with my 3585A. ?It looked good, so I put it back in and the unit started working. ?I am guessing that the heat of removal caused it to start being a crystal again, weird. ?Either way it has been stable for several weeks now thru multiple power cycles.
