In the USA perhaps where most places have air-con and even hardware stores!!!? Sadly “the local hardware store” is long gone over here … I’ve never seen anything like it in the “DIY” stores here in the UK L

?

I thought the stuff offered on eBay a bit spendy and even though I found it a bit cheaper on Amazon, in the end I cut down one of those green nylon scouring pads which cost next to nothing and looks to have a similar pore size.

8757C mother board

 

I am in need of a 08757-60066 mother board for a 8757C.
The 8757C that I bought cheap had a CPU battery leak and has made a mess
of the motherboard.
Before I remove, clean and rebuild the traces on this damaged mother
board, I though That I would ask the community if one is available from
a scrapped unit.

Appreciate any help.

Replacing the ZZ1000 - My Summary.

A high-voltage zener will add a lot of drift.

It's a hassle to ovenize it.

Nine 9V zeners is better but still pretty bad.
To meet spec you have to use what HP used, the 1N938, a special temperature-compensated part which costs over $10 each today.

That's too expensive.

It's a hassle to rework the board to use a single 1N938 the way HP did.

Ed Breya's TL431 suggestion is the only one that's cheap, easy, and pretty good.
That's a TL431 plus a 65-75V zener.
150k and 4.7k in the divider gets you 82V.
No other changes needed.

That's how I see it.

Hi from down under.
From memory I used an 8.2K 1 watt resistor as that is what I had on hand.
Also placed 68V and 14V zeners in series to make the necessary 82V level and again this is what was in
junk box.

Hi:

My HP 4050N with Duplex option got erratic so, after some research, got an HP LaserJet Pro M501DN (with Duplex and Networking). After some problems that were fixed by upgrading the printer firmware (I bought it new) and upgrading the drivers, it's very much like the 4050.

PS the problem was poor seating of the LAN card in the 4045. Removing it and reinstalling fixed the problem.

Compare the cost (including consumables) of a rehabbed commercial printer with a wally world special or one aimed at small offices, (assuming that you're capable and willing to do the work yourself ), makes these an affordable alternative.

Depends on whether it's been rehabbed. Think the fuser is rated for 60k. Service manual shows intervals.

The bay shows many units for sale with 200k+. Starting at $200. Think I paid 75$ for a complete consumables kit minus the fuser. (rollers, gears, pads, etc.) Takes 45 minutes to do. (took me an hour prep time to make sure I knew what to do.)

Most well made things run for a long, long time if the prescribed preventative maintenance is done.

????????? Its been many years since I worked on a 141 but it seems to me it has an astigmatism adjustment in it. Listed in the handbook somewhere. Correcting this effect is what its for. You need to juggle between it and the focus to find the sharpest dot.

On my recently acquired HP-141T,?8554B and 8552B plugins, I noticed that the trace has a sort of vertical thickness to it, as though someone is drawing the traces using a calligraphy pin oriented vertically. Horizontally, the trace is very sharp. Adjusting the focus makes it possible to bring the "dot" to a symmetric and round but fuzzier shape. I am using the "manual sweep" mode to judge the shape of the dot. The total height of the dot, vertically, is probably 4 or 5 mm.?

Still have a rehabbed LJ4 (new fuser and total consumable parts PM) with all the extra parts and toner. This one cost 60$ with 5 new OEM toner cartridges. That's a metric ton of printing.

It's in a storage trailer. Due to the new abode, I'll see that stuff shortly before the snow flies. No use to me now.

Compare the cost (including consumables) of a rehabbed commercial printer with a wally world special or one aimed at small offices, (assuming that you're capable and willing to do the work yourself ), makes these an affordable alternative.
