Not HP, but you might look at the Tek TM500 modules.

=================

I am beginning to shop for a better frequency counter for my test bench

I don't need uhf or even vhf but I do want something HP that I can rely on
10mhz and below

Something basically simple but not a toy. I have a couple of those
already.

Compact size and latest gee whiz item is not so important as budget,
reliability, serviceability. OK, I'd like cheap if that is possible. I
don't
mind fixing ebay finds if it isn't going to be impossible to get it
calibrated.

So many models I thought I'd start here

Thank-you

For anyone in the UK who may be interested, I just put a hp 8558B plugin
up on ebay. The description means what it says. It's been a while since it
was powered and I have no reason to believe there is anything wrong with
it but I cannot guarantee that it all works as it should, so consider it
"spares or repair".

National instruments used to make an Rs232 to 488 adapter years back.?
This was based on a Z8 processor.?
They stopped selling and supporting it a long time back, along with scsi bus interfaced version for Unix workstations.? I actually own an rs232 one, but don't use it.

The interesting part, is they also had a download from their website which included C source code, to implement an api that more or less matched their regular 488 products api.? So you could write code to interface with either reasonably seemlessly.?

If this is still available, it might be useful to people writing their own code to interface with these sorts of products.

I have not used this device, but I noticed in the eBay listing that it does not support SRQ's at this time. If your application depends upon service requests, then this will not work for you. Otherwise, it looks like it may fit starting GPIB requirements.

HP stuff from Israel

I've bought several things (a Miteq Ku band power amplifier and two HP 1345A boards) from Israel through, took about 2 weeks to arrive. No problems!

Re: WTB: Power Sensor for HP-435B HP-436A HP-438A

Hello Ilan,
I have a spare HP-8484A power sensor which is newly calibrated. I also have a 30dB precision attenuator to calibrate it with the 1mW output of the HP-436A.
Price for both is EURO 165 including insured shipping.
I might also have a power sensor cable, let me check.

Re: ho 8558B

I bought some Tek 7000-series parts from someone in Israel. Other than a
long lead time (and it wasn't that long), there were no problems. I
suspect that it depends on the seller, like any other eBay transaction.
Check their ratings, look at the feedback percentage vs. number of items
sold and caveat emptor.

Cheers,
DaveD

Re: Looking for HP 85662a display unit

Good morning Dan:
I had two 85685A¡¯s. One that was attached to an 8566B and a spare. The 8566B/85685A set are at this moment on their way to a new owner and the spare which has never been on line here needs to be tested. At the moment I don¡¯t have the necessary cable to test it so will have to acquire one and test before selling. Don¡¯t want you to receive an untried device. I¡¯ll let you know when I have tested the spare.

Does anyone have an HP 85662a they'd want to part with? Repairable
is OK.

Personally I think you get better value paying the extra for a Proligix adapter.
I have mine, and I'm **VERY** happy with that :o)
