Manual for 180a / 1801a
completelydifferentid
Hello All,
I'm having a HP180a scope with 1801a 2 channel vertical plug in and need service manuals for both. I was able to find manuals for the HP180c/d but I don't know how much the 'c/d' model differs from the 'a' model. So I'd really appreciate if someone could tell me a source to download manuals for the 180a. Many thanks in advance, Andi |

You could just leave the can in place, clip its leads, and solder new caps to the leads. If it's not a leaded-type can, you might have to remove it. But, in that case, make sure that the can itself was not part of the circuit. If it was, just jumper some wire(s) to recreate the connection(s). If you're more of a "purist", or, if there's just not enough room, you could either hollow it out and stuff the new caps inside of it, or, remove the can and install multiple caps in its place. Pigtail style caps with shrink sleeving, tie wraps etc (NOT ELECTRICAL TAPE !) to hold them together, kind of a kludge...but effective

开云体育Hello Kevin.
?
This is Robert. Thank you for your e-mail.
Currently I don't have a manual for the HP 1710A scope, however I run accross
(alot) of test gear and many times there are also manuals that accompany the
test gear and when I locate one I will let you know.
?
Also, you are welcome to stay in touch and let me
know of any other HP and Tektronix manuals that you have need of as I do run
accross even the Tektronix manuals too.
?
By the way, I am currently in search of the older
Hewlett Packard and the older military version (large and heavy) oscilloscopes.
Is there a possibility that you might have any for sale, or perhaps you might
know of someone who does?
?
Hope you don't mind, I am enclosing a few models of
the oscilloscopes that I am in search of. If you happen to have any, or when you
run accross any, or if you know of anyone who might have one or more models
please let me know.
?
Enclosed is a partial list of what I am in search
of. Thanks for your time and have a great day.
?
Respectfully, Robert
?
p.s. Below is the partial list;

0S-121A/USM-140
0S-121C/USM-140

?
Again, if you or anyone you know might have any of
these, or perhaps you could point me in the direction where I could locate any
of these I am very grateful for your help. Thank you for your time and you and
yours have a great day.

Respectfully, Robert

HP 1710A Scope Manual S/N 1316A
Kevin John Chadwick
Hi Everyone,
I have just joined your group as I have started to repair HP scopes and other similar equipment. I am also a member of the Tektronix group so I hope this is not held against me... I need a manual or CD for the HP 1710A scope. In particular I would like information on the HVPS (all two of them for Bright Scan?). I have access to 1707A, 1710B and 1741A manuals but the 1710A seems to be a hybrid of some sort. If anyone can help it would be most appreciated. Thanks, Kevin Ontario, Canada |

If I recall there are two xtal oscillators.?
They are both designed along the same lines.? Check the output on a good
digital scope with at least 500 mhz bw.? You will see where the problems
begin,? you will see noise & non linear waveforms.?If there is a
problem here?it will only get worse as you move through the
instrument.? ?I'd find a service manual somewhere before you start the
process.? The attenuators will likley need cleaning as
well.??After you clean them switch the?gold?plated
finger?around,? this will sometimes help.

3457A error "9 NOT CAL'D"
I recently acquired an HP 3457A. The instrument seems to work, but I
get error "9 NOT CAL'D" when switching to ohm and freq functions and on completion of the self test, even though it says "SELF TEST OK". I do not get any HW errors and the cal ram seems to be working. Anybody have any ideas what could be causing this? Any info on error codes and the DIAGNOST and TEST commands would be greatly appreciated as I don't have any manuals. Best Regards, ~petev |

Re: HP8656A
开云体育I found similar problems with my 8656A.? I
replaced all electrolytic caps.? I also replaced the osc. I believe it's a
FET,? try Sphere in B.C. they had some.? I still have one extra.?
It's not as clean as my 8647A but 100% better.
