Hey, here is the link to pictures of parts.,
Let me know what you need. I prefer to sell all of them. Re: HP 3403C True RMS Voltmeter display fault
Actually, if the display is goofy, not counting or "wiggling", maybe the clock oscillator that drives the system or display is not running. Probably a simple oscillator crystal with a pair of gates.
Look around with a scope and see if you have gating action anywhere. Jeff Kruth

Re: Looking for 54300A operating and service manual
Hi Peter,
?
The input modules used in the 54300A are also used in the HP 54100A/D scopes. ? You can find the service manual for the scope here:
?
?
The scope service manual includes sections on the input modules. ?There isn't schematics of the scope or 54003A module, but there is detailed information on calibration and adjustments of all the input modules including the 54003A. ?Also included is the pinout on the back connector in section 7C (pinout on page 7C-26). ?From left to right looking at the back, the pins are +10V, ID0, Overload, coaxial output, ID1, ID2, and -10V.
?
If this isn't enough, the full service manual including schematics for the 54100A/D scope is available here for $25.50:
?
?
This would provide additional detail on the circuitry that supports the input modules, and who knows, maybe schematics of the modules too since they were included in the above service manual from Keysight.? Or maybe Peter Brown's fiche will show what you need.

Re: Service manual scan post processing
Whilst looking through the service manual for the Canon MS-800 I noticed that it listed a 128Mb SODIM as being optional and necessary for the greyscale option?
?
My machine did not have this fitted so I popped a PC66 stick in and hey presto the software at the PC end of the system now reports that 16 / 256 level grayscale is now available as a scan parameter (previously only black and white).? It also appears to have opened up a contrast option on the PC end.
?
Great that all the software appears to be resident on the hardware by default.?
?
I wonder how much they charged for the grayscale option back in the day?
?

Re: HP 3403C True RMS Voltmeter display fault
Hello Arnaud,
I think there's a few things you may do to locate the source of the problem.
1 - Try operating the 3403C in DC, linear mode. This will bypass all the RMS to DC converter and the LOG circuitry, and will let you measure different DC voltages, positive or negative, and see what value is displayed. Is it always +1 ? This will be a first indication.
2 - Check the voltages which are fed to the LD110 and LD111 : power supplies and reference voltage, and check the clock input.
3 - With a known voltage at the 3403 input (for example +0.5 VDC), check the input voltage on pin 15 of the LD111.
And of course, please let me know !
Sincerely,
Jo?l Setton |
Re: Looking for 54300A operating and service manual
开云体育I am specifically looking to use the 54003A input modules standalone so am looking for the pinout. There are 6 pins plus a 50 ohm coaxial output.? As there is a LM308 in there next to the hybrid I could identify the +V and -V pins, know two are NC and one a ground, so just wonder: 1)? What is the other pin 2)? What are the + and - voltages? (12? 15? or what?) That's about it. Peter

Re: HP 3403C True RMS Voltmeter display fault
I kept looking up on the LDs chips, on the Tek groups and here with a thread on the 8558. It uses the same duo for the AD converter of its frequency display it seems, with a very similar failure as it was stuck on "+1".?
At this point i'll probably blindly replace the pair as they seem to have a high failure rate with time. They seem particularly vunerable to overload, i'll check the power.
I still don't totally understand how the digital section work but I don't think I need to for now.? |

Hi, I am closing down my father’s long-standing workshop, which specialized in tube and radio technology using components available in the 1970s and 1980s. There are hundreds of germanium diodes, transistors, ceramic tubular capacitors, styroflex capacitors and power resistors—both new and desoldered. There’s a large quantity of these components.
