Re: Selling experience, sorry OT again
PayPal fees for FX are incredibly high, 3..5% worst foreign currency exchange rate, plus fees, etc.
You always have the option to dump epay all together and simply sell on your own website, our firm has done so since 1995, and never sell on epay. For epay, What about payment via bank transfer? Physical paper bank check? Still.aloowed? Jon |

Re: Selling experience, sorry OT again
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýNo tax is stupid.? It does exactly what it's designed to do, generate revenue for a government. Some states evaluate your car each year and tax you on a percentage of the value.? (Alabama is one) Some states "evaluate" your personal property, decide what it's worth, and then tax you on that (property taxes). All of them generate revenue. That's the idea. A stupid tax only is stupid if it doesn't generate money. Harvey

Most private sales are used items. Some have been sold many many times, yet in the States sales tax is collected every time any item is sold. They collect sales tax even if the item is from a foreign country. Now, they are informing the IRS with transactions every time your total goes over $600 in sales, you get a 1099K and has to be declared as income. Ridiculous. I no longer sell on eBay but I still buy, sadly way too much at my age. 73 ¨C Mike ? Mike B. Feher, N4FS 89 Arnold Blvd. Howell NJ 07731 848-245-9115 ? From: [email protected] <[email protected]> On Behalf Of Robert G8RPI via groups.io ? Unfortunatly ebay have us over a barrel to some extent. My personal opinion is they don't want small qty private sellers. Probably becuse a number of them cause too many claims. You have to use "managed payments" in the UK now. Ieven if there is no holding period you still have to wait a few days for the payment to come through. I now put? 3 or 4 day shipping time on my listings so I at least have the postage cost in my account. The worst thing I have had is an item sold to europe and not only did ebay charge me an additional international sales fee, they charged the seller 20% VAT and then charged me 10% comission on the VAT! As far as I can tell as a private individual selling a used item VAT should not have been charged in the first place. Unfortunatly none of the alternative marketplaces have the exposure that ebay has. |

Re: 8350B *restoration adventure?*
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHi, ? You have a solution that is not perfect but no doubt you will find a way to get the necessary voltages. But in such a situation, I would be tempted to rewind the original transformer, if it is a failure, you still have the solution with the 8566B transformer. I have already done a few times the rewinding of a transformer (we don't do that often), and every time it was a success...however, I must confess, it takes patience. If you like challenges, here is one. ? I have also done a secondary configuration from an existing transformer to fit an application, but for about the same power. And I also had the surprise to realize that a transformer that I thought I had to rewind, had a thermal switch in the primary, and it was this part that was defective. Fortunately, it was easy for me to bypass it, knowing that there was other protection anyway. ? I've had an 8350B for several years, and I got it when it was new...a reliable and very practical instrument. I should be getting a third module this week, an 83595A which I will probably have to do some repairs and a complete alignment on. The 8350B is an old instrument, but it is capable of serving for many more years. ? -Yves ? De?: [email protected] <[email protected]> De la part de RubenRubio ? Hi there! |
