Re: HP 70206 Display unit
Yeah, what Paul said. I have a 70k series I pieced together, works great although it's heavy and bulky. I have the HP 70206A and the HP 70001 populated with the HP 70904A RF section, HP 70903A, 70902A IF sections, HP70900A local oscillator and the HP 70310A Precision reference oscillator. Most modules can be had for under $100 but some can still run for several hundred dollars like the HP 70900.??

HP 43113B Pulsed event timer documentation wanted.
Greetings all, I recently picked up a HP 43113B pulsed event timer. However I cannot seem to find any information on the web outside of images for this unit, or can I find it in any of the late 70's HP catalogs I have. I would love to get some basic operation/service manual information on this unit. My guess is that this was some sort of custom made instrument for the military or telecommunications industry. Thanks in advance.?

Some time ago I created the group, but only informed a single person that I had done so.? However, enough people found it and joined that I decided I should take it live. This is intended to be a forum primarily for discussing QEX articles as that should save authors from repeating the same answers to multiple correspondents.? However, I should also like it to serve as a forum for serious work on a variety of topics from modulation systems similar to FT8 to teaching how to design an HF amplifier or oscillator from scratch as opposed to simply copying older designs.? Experts conversing with experts and also taking the time to instruct novices. I am hoping for a substantial educational content. The group is unmoderated.? Unless someone gets seriously outside the bounds of polite social behavior I have no intent of exercising any control unless compelled to do so. It is also my hope that in conjunction with QEX becoming a print option for ARRL members it will help stimulate readership and advertising revenue to support QEX. I have requested that option and my ARRL membership hangs in the balance. I will continue to subscribe to QEX in print independent of whether I continue as an ARRL member. It is my hope that this will help QEX develop the technical stature that QST once enjoyed. I have no interest in contests and trophies. Re: Wanted : circuit schematics for H/P 1349A XY display
Hi Dave , Steve, and Toby. Thankyou for responding. It seems that I have a fault in the Z amplifier, because some of the lettering is bright and clear, while other letters are dim. Everything else [other than the lettering] is clear and bright. This Network Analyser is a bit like the laser when it was first discovered - an invention waiting for a purpose. Still a lovely bit of gear, and nice to work on. Cheers!........................................Donald On Mon, Oct 19, 2020 at 7:38 AM David B via <dburton97128=[email protected]> wrote:

Re: Agilent 54831M
Bostonman
Here is what I've tried so far:
The original 44-pin drive that has a mSATA board inside and uses the 3.5" to 2.5" adapter to connect inside the scope to IDE cable A brand new SSD drive through a 2.5" to 3.5" IDE with a separate Molex power adapter powered by a hard drive USB power supply. This drive has the original drive image the previous owner used to create the mSATA drive (I was able to contact him and he still had the image but not the drive) A junk 3.5" IDE drive with the image obtained from the previous owner as listed above. In all three cases, using three different drives, and two different images, the scope gives the same error. I tried the SSD in a junk laptop and it booted to a DOS screen that read something about insufficient memory and then showed a Agilent type large print logo that read: it's safe to shut down now. I'm uncertain about that error but assume it's because the scope software was trying to boot in a laptop, however, it shows the drive is capable of loading (at I believe this to be the case). I looked for everything in BIOS related to booting from the network and can't find a single thing. I even used the 'default 1' setting and that didn't help. This is crazy because all I did was remove the cover, looked at the cheap hard drive adapter, re-seated the cover, discovered the ribbon cable for video slipped out (I wasn't getting any video), re-seated the cable, and then the system failed to boot. I never went into BIOS prior to this issue, and, should I get this scope to load, still have the 50ohm and self diagnosis issue to deal with - the initial message that began this thread. |
FTAGH: National Instruments DAQCard DIO-24 PCMCIA digital I/O card and cable
Free to a good home: National Instruments DAQCard DIO-24 that I can no longer use. It's a PCMCIA digital I/O card. I no longer have any laptops with PCMCIA slots.? Yours if you want it. It's complete with interface cable and docs. ?
Pick up in Southlake, TX or for the cost of shipping. I'll ship outside the US if you accept any risk and pay additional fees it involves. Oz (in DFW near the airport.) |
Re: Model 5327C NIXIE display repair, Suggestion and a request - HP 5216A nixie driver HP PN 1820-0092 broken
Hi,
I was revamping this old post /g/HP- where an adapter is mentioned to substitute the 1820-0092. In my HP 5216A the central nixie is always dark. I think the guilt is its driver because there is no activity at all on its outputs whilst there is activity on its inputs. Do you think I'm wrong to suspect of this driver? Thank you ?? |
Re: where to get replacement for defective electrolytics
开云体育Hello Matthias, take it from a fellow expat: Mouser.com. And, if needs be, have PCBway shoot you some custom adapter PCBs.
My former lab gypsy and I did this at our militia employer, where we had to maintain ancient TMI. Whenever a cap failed, we designed a replacement PCB and used modern technology, sometimes even SMT. We, in fact, found that modern capacitors, in some cases, were so "good" that the circuits no longer worked as their designers had calculated with a loss inside the capacitor.
Either way, we did also try to restuff ancient caps. But this
turned out to be an expensive and slow operation....with
questionable results. With a restuffed cap, you can no longer see
from the outside if Mr. Capacitor has gone on summer vacation.
