Good Morning Gentlemen,

I have sent in a few new HP scans to BAMA.

Good on ya BAMA!

HP4951C 4952A Software

Richard

Hi, Can anyone help with a copy of the 5062-2119 Data communications
test library that shipped with the HP4951C & HP4952A Protocol
Analyzers?

Am also looking for the service manual for the same equipment.

Many Thanks

Richard

Schematic for HP651B

Hello All,

I am in need of the power supply and oscillator schematics for an HP
651B I am repairing. I have a service manual but it is for an older
model than mine. My unit has a serial number of 811-03132.

Can anyone help me out with a scan of the 2 foldout pages for this
oscillator? I would really appreciate it. It is not significantly
different from the older unit, but it appears that Si transistors
replace the Ge units seen in the manual I have. To make matters
worse, someone has been in there and made some changes/repairs that
appear to be less than professional! Not sure anymore what are
original parts and which have been changed! The parts pages which
describe thea transistors and diodes used would also be helpful.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Mitch

Only a few manuals left

Dave W8NF

I didn't expect to get such an overwhelming response!

To prevent lots of emails about manuals that are
already spoken for, here's what's left, only 30
minutes after my last posting:

=== excerpts of original message ===
Most of the manuals are for relatively new equiment.
Please realize the newer manuals, in 3-ring binders
are heavy, so shipping can sometimes cost more than
you'd expect. Prices shown below include USPS Book
Rate in the US. That service can take 8-10 days, but
quite a bit less expensive than the alternatives.

Power Splitter - 11667A
* Manual has some writing on the front. Low page
count, this one is $2 delivered in the US.

Multiprogrammer 6940A/6941A, Relay Output/readback
Card, model 69433A
* I don't even know what the thing is, but if you have
one and need the manual, here it is. $2 delivered in
the US. Actually, I think it's some sort of automatic
data collection system.

Power Supplies: E3620A. This is a recent power
supply. This manual is surprisingly complete, with
full schematics. There's enough info here that you
could replicate this benchtop low noise power supply.
This is the operating and service manual. $5 delivers
it in the US.

HP=IB conntrolled "system" power supplies:
* This is just the operating and programming manual,
no service info. Models 6632A, 6633A, 6634A.
$5 delivered in the US.

Microwave Power Meter: These manuals are for the new
EPM series. EPM-441A/B is also known as E4418A/B, and
EPM-442A/B is also known as E4419A/B.
* User's Guide for EPM-441B (E4418B)
* User's Guide for EPM-442A (E4419A) still
shrink-wrapped
* Programming Guide that covers both 441A and 442A
$15 for all three, including Book Rate for 9 pounds in
the US.

Power Sensor - 8484A
* Operating and Service Manual. Pretty small, $2 will
deliver this one anywhere in the US.

Microwave Sweepers - the outstanding 8360 series,
including the 83620, 83630, 83640, 83650 and
variations, including B and L models.
* Troubleshooting Guide, still in the shrink wrap
* Service Guide (not in shrink wrap but in like-new
condition)
The two together constitutes the instruments' entire
service documentation
$15 for the set, including Book Rate for 11 pounds in
the US.

* Also have a second troubleshooting guide for the
sweepers, but not a matching service guide. $9
including Book Rate for 7 pounds in the US.

Spectrum Analyzer - the 8560E high performance series.
These manuals cover ALL the analyzers in that product
line:
* Mass Memory Module (that's the card reader on the
back panel - has its own manual and it's needed to do
programming, downloading, etc), Installation.
Operating, Programming and Service Guide
* User's Guide - this thing is HUGE and covers all the
functions.
* Calibration Guide - bigger even than the user's
guide. Don't think you can calibrate the instrument
with just a scope - this guide includes long lists of
equipment and software required to do the cal, besides
the procedures themselves.
$18 includes Book Rate for 20 pounds in the US for all
three.

Function Generator - 3312A
* Operating and Service Manual
This one's light, so shipping isn't so bad. $4
delivers it Book Rate in the US.

Power Splitter - 11667A

Multiprogrammer 6940A/6941A, Relay Output/readback

I've been selling similar manuals on eBay for a few
years, most of them came from buddies who left the
employment of HP / Agilent and had me helping them
unload remnants from their garages. These are the
last bits I have sitting around and I just want them
gone. First come, first serve, but am willing to
entertain offers on the lot.

Re: HP Meters

Ray Robinson

Hi Tom,

Anybody have a solution for the peeling meter faces
commin on HP meters like the 400EL?
I have photocopied the dial scale from a cataloge or manual,
and glued it in place.
You can cut out the window for the mirror (if it has one).
The 1970 Hp catalog has 4 scales on page 173.

I'd be interesetd in a better fix,
but this looks OK.

Re: Digest Number 27

---------------------------

Tom,

I've never seen one do that. But I've only had a few of them go through here (bought surplus and resold). My obvious suggestion would be to buy a parts unit and take the meter out of it. They are pretty inexpensive, nowadays. I'll check to see if I have any left. If so, I'll list them at (or you can drop me an email). If you want to go that route, you should also check www.ebay.com . You can also put an "auto-search" on ebay, so you'd be automatically emailed whenever anything matching your search came up for auction. Just go to "My Ebay" and then "Favorites". And, just in case one of their good warehouse sites is near you, you should also check out , since all you want is a parts unit. Good luck.

Regards,

Tom Gootee

PFcap query

Looking for some info on a broken cap..........Manual says it is a
selected part, with the ave value given as 5pf mica 10% 500vdcw (from
Hi Q div of Aerovox Corp Olean NY)Hp part no. is 0150-008.
This little pesky varmint looks just like a small resistor (1/8 dia,x
1/8 long)The colors are Blue/gray/white/gold, from what I can figure
from all the old cap charts it should be 68pf or 6.8pf. Before it
broke it measured I think around 9pf ( with it connected across
double bannana jacks)Any clues on its replacement? Since this is in
parallel with the scopes or meters input capacitance, its effect
would seems to be neglegible.
Survey says..............

Robert
For documentation you might like to check out the LOGSA site-

Enter 'oscilloscope' in the 'TM Title text' search box.
Definitely some AN/USM-140C info there but don't know how much. Possibly
also other interesting info re your enquiry.

Re: 8753C

Dave W8NF

Tom,

Couple of options for you:
1) HTML file (missing some graphics) that lists the
available commands for 8753C, D, and similar boxes.
Doesn't tell you how to use them. It's a small file,
123kb. I'll email after this email in case you're
needing something fast.

2) I have a .pdf of the programming guide for the D
model of the instrument. In addition to the
comprehensive description of all commands, it's got
lots of programming examples. Because it's 1.2Meg, I
don't want to send unless you tell me to.

3) I have the original "programming notes" for the
8753A/B in printed form. Would take some time but I
could copy and send to you. This might be the closest
thing to an 8753C manual I can get. Not sure why the
"c" doesn't seem to have docs.

AND, in case you are running up against "The Common
8753A/B/C Programming Problem": In theory, the HPIB
commands can be terminated either by an assertion of
the EOI line (a hardware wire in the HPIB interface),
or by the correct "last" data character. CR or LF, I
think are acceptable. Due to an indsiscovered
omission in the 8753A/B/C, you MUST exert EOI for the
box to accept a command. Isn't supposed to be that
way. If you're using an HP-buit HP-IB card with any
of HP's software, or if you are using an HP BASIC
controller, the default setup is to establish EOI.
However, this is not the default with the National
Instruments cards and drivers, so you have to manually
change that configuration if you're using non-HP cards
or drivers.

Will send the html file under separate cover.

73,

Dave W8NF

I sorry to get off topic but I have tried many forums looking for a
schematic for a Eurotherm 832 power supply.
Eurotherm list this with a 831 on their web site, but the 832 is
different.Eurotherm Europe states this was a USA only model.
Eurotherm USA wont release a copy.
I thought maybe Eurotherm may have not made this and have done
searches on other supplies to find one similar but no luck.
