Re: HP8657B Mains Filter Disaster
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýBad news, good news: The bad news is that the suggested PVCu solvent doesn¡¯t touch the goo out of the filter¡.. well you could say it makes the cleaning cloth a bit black but doesn¡¯t actually remove any significant junk. I¡¯ve managed to reduce the mess
to the extent that it doesn¡¯t matter anymore and anyway it¡¯s invisible to the outside world. Fortunately the mess was fairly limited to a local area and didn¡¯t get all over the PSU PCB underneath. Some sticky smoke got onto the fan but it¡¯s not a major issue
and the mess there was probably limited because the fuse blew and stopped the fan rotating/sucking. I was fortunately right on site when the filter went up so got to it pretty quickly.

The good news is that the FN370-2 arrived yesterday morning and was successfully fitted and commissioned about an hour later J. So we¡¯re back in business!

Re: Schematic for HP 16047B Test Fixture
Here is the schematic of my unit. It does not make a lot of sense to me. Any thoughts? The diodes I understand, the 20 ohm (0.27 ohm according to the parts list) I don't, especially the one off the uSwitch Note that Ground is not to any of the BNC connections, except their grounds. Schematic for HP 16047B Test Fixture
Does anyone have (or has drawn) a schematic for the 16047B test fixture used with impedance analyzers?
Mine seems to have modifications. There is a drawing of the insides in the Operating Note 1600-90001 for the 16047A/B/C, 16048A/B/C, 16034B, and 16023B. See photo of the insides of my unit below this picture with the lid open. The two 470 uF capacitors are in series (+ to +) and in series with the HiCur connection. There are two banana sockets for bias I assume. There is a 1k 2W resistor in this line to the + of this bias input. The 8 diodes to ground on the LowCur connection is normal as are the two 0.27 ohm resistors in the HiCur & SPDT microswitch circuit. My sketch shows these two resistors as 20 ohm 10Watt so I will have to re-check. I will clean up my sketch and post it but would like to return the box to original HP design. |
Re: My $25 "In Poor Shape" 3468A has arrived
Oh-- De-oxit/Cramolin on the sockets was necessary to finally get a .0001+/- zero reading. J
