Re: A huge thank you!

Thanks for the smooth move!

Thanks indeed!

I guess there was no problem at all transferring messages?

I scraped the group awhile ago when I thought yahoo might disappear. No
jails, no throttling, no VPN required. It just worked. I think it was a
little slow, maybe overnight for 88K messages.

Glad to see you had no troubles!

Thanks again!
Keith

The migration of Yahoo -> groups.io is now complete

Hi all,
The transfer should be complete. If you have not taken a look, take a look of the homepage of the group at /g/HP-Agilent-Keysight-equipment I received the email (partiall copied below) from groups.io, saying what had happened, and what had not.

Dave

Hello,

The transfer of your Yahoo Group hp_agilent_equipment to your Groups.io group HP-Agilent-Keysight-equipment is complete.

We've transferred the following parts of your group:

  • Members
  • Messages
  • Photos
  • Files
  • Links
  • Databases

IMPORTANT: Yahoo Groups has been very unreliable lately. If you find that you are missing Photos, Files or Messages, it is because we were unable to export them due to problems with Yahoo Groups. Also, we do not transfer calendar events.

Here are some statistics:

  1. Total Members Processed: 4619
  2. Successfully Added: 4067
  3. Bounced Members (Skipped): 431
  4. Moderated Members: 0
  5. Members on Digest: 682
  6. Undisclosed Emails (Skipped): 15
The following email addresses were not added:
<snip list>

431 email addresses were not added because they were bouncing.

?

1396 photos were transferred.

486 files were transferred.

40 links were transferred. WARNING: Some links were not able to be transferred because of a bug in Yahoo's export system. You will need to manually review the links.

6 databases were transferred.

If you have any questions, please contact [email protected].

Cheers,

All sorted, just the broken switches to address now.

Re: migration test message

+1 ;)

First topic ever on the group?
Have all the yahoo topics been copied to for searching the archives?

Virus-free.

I have access to an HP8656A 0 - 999MHz signal Generator which has not been used for some time, it seems to power up all buttons function ok but there is no output on the front N Type or the BNC output on the rear panel. I have done the manual reset for Reverse Power Protection, still no output. On the rear there listed are some? HP - IB commands ? RO? RF OFF State, ? RI? RF ON State,?? RP? Reset Reverse Power Protection. Is it possible that the last user ha d used the RO command and turned off the output, after several months would this command still be valid? any means of checking if this has happened? if so can it turned on without having access to HP-IB?? or do I have a more fundamental problem?? I have spent a considerable amount of time on the internet but no solution, also been trying to find an HP user group but no luck. Any help/advise gratefully appreciated.

Re: HP 6012B volt zero and current regulation

Edited

I am using a fluke voltmeter to measure the current using the peak measurement, is that a reliable indication of regulation by voltmeter?

I had an idea. If anyone has a 6012B, maybe 6012A, or a 6032A. Perhaps through a power resistor or bulb, to simulate the results I am observing. Set the current to a specific value and then rapidly ramp up the voltage and observe the regulation effects. If we conclude that you observe similar results to me this is then typical, if not post your results so I can compare with mine. I assume the 6012A and 6032A are similarly designed power supplies?

I observe when setting 4 amps only the supply and the voltage quickly ramped there is a peak of 4.8 amps under a load from a bulb, precisely its a car headlight

I should add this is not critical but just a observation and I am comparing my results to others.

The test results from the HP 6024 supply revealed that when the current is limited to 4 amps with the same setup from the 6012B, ramping up the voltage to test the current regulation it immediately stops at 4 amps although I notice a slight blip in brightness from the bulb, but not as bright or as long as noticed on the 6012B. I am studying the manual but at least I confirmed there is no phenomenons occurring with my test setup.

I don't think you should equate brightness with current, as you have a non-linear device. I would personally be observing the current with a scope, not judging it by a lightbulb. A FET fed with a square wave generator would make a load that should allow you to see the step response.
