Re: hp 83522a 2.4 ghz rf plug for 8350b

Couple of ways:
?
1) See how well it acts as a mixer in the frequency range in question.? (This is what I usually test, since the DUT is usually part of a?mixer assembly.)
2) Use a curve tracer with appropriate current limits.
3) Look up the diode's maximum forward current limit and make sure that your VOM doesn't exceed it.? Possibly need to disable autoranging on the meter to make sure.?

HP 3469B multimeter

Hi all,

I've got an HP 3469B multimeter that's not behaving as it should - the
display is behaving sensibly, but the values bear little relationship
to the electrical signals applied. Nothing looks brown/smoked inside,
and it has the largest multi-gang rotary switch which could have some
dirty contacts.

Anybody know anything about the insides of these? Do
calibration/service manuals exist? I'll start tracing the circuit and
checking levels but I'd prefer some intelligence before going in blind.

Thanks,
Michael

Need knobs for 3580A spectrum analyzer

dr_charlesmorris

I have a good-condition HP 3580A spectrum analyzer with many broken
knobs. All four of the span/resolution/sweep knobs to the right of
the CRT are busted, as well as the input attenuator knob. Since the
scales are part of the knob, not the instrument panel, working with
it is rather annoying.

HP no longer supports this instrument and the knobs are not available
from them. I have tried without success on the net to find surplus
knobs. Can anyone help?

thanks
Charles

Good idea for a group, possibly even overdue!

Dave,

Sometimes when I fire up all my equipment, I wish I had a pair of
those hearing protectors that construction workers use.

The whiniest (if such a word) of my equipment is definitely the HP 5370A counter
and it's brother the 5370B. But the loudest is the 8660C.

Once I had to repair the 8660C, and I went deaf before I was through.

Now, add to that the AC unit that keeps the room cool, and
you can imagine what it sounds like in here.

One weird thing happened lately was I purchased a Systron Donner
Time code reader/generator (IRIG-B) and it had a faulty PS.

Well, It was nothing more that a blown cap, but when I fixed it
I realized that is was using a switched PS for the +12V. The
design of the PS made it whine like crazy around 12KHz (or so).

It is sooo annoying!

Anyway, Paypal just informed me that it will be sending you
the amount for the CD.

Many thanks for your comments,

-George

Manual for HP 226A Time-Mark Generator

Hi,

First off this is an excellant idea for a group and I wish it much
success, but I guess that really depends on us and how we use it!

I have acquired a HP 226A generator and am looking for a manual
which will permit me to adjust the output. I am not sure how much
variability is available in the design (a schematic would help here)
but the output seems to be very low at the lower periods.

Hard copy, photocopy or best of all pdf would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Mitch

Not usually a good idea to check these diodes with ohmmeters or
(especially) DVM diode-test functions. You may have blown the
diode. :(

Schematic for HP 4328A Milliohmmeter

Ladies and Gentlemen:

Welcome to the new hp_agilent_equipment group. As one of our first
posts, I am asking if anyone has a schematic for a HP 4328A

went "full scale" and will not respond to inputs on any range.
Any .pdf file would be appreciated to get me back and running again.

Many thanks for your help -- Tom Leedy

Hi Hank
HP Journal below has 3586A/B/C introductory article

PL Thomas "A programmable selective level meter (wave analyzer)
with synthesized tuning, autoranging, and automatic
calibration",
HEWLETT PACKARD JOURNAL, May, 1980 Vol 31, Number 5
Pages 3 thro 8

Thats from my catalog index.
I cant find all my issues at present (shifted house 2 years ago and much of
my stuff packed to the roof in a garden shed, I cant even open the door
without stuff cascading out!).
If I come across it I will email the pages to you
