Re: OT: Wanted: .pdf's of SAUGAMO Silver Mica dipped molded Capacitor ?---? Data Sheets or Catalogs ?

Just to be clear, is this company called Saugamo or Sangamo? I remember Sangamo very well, a well established maker of capacitors and watthour meters. I never heard of Saugamo. Is Saugamo a mis spelling or mistyping of Sangamo or a separate company or a changed name or what? Some precision here would be appreciated.

Sangamo and Saugamo both seem to be the same company in springfield illinois. I think maybe the county and company name changed at some point.

?

Nigel and all.
Got my unit running 4.22. Used w27C512 for U58 and U58 and AM27C256 for the rest.? Self test reports no errors. Now I need to figure out why I don't see A23 signal anymore on the logic analyzer.?

Re: 8557A/8558A Switch Board Assembly - Contact Fingers

The contact finger repair on my 8557A is complete!? I am pretty close to getting this repair wrapped up.? I now have the timebase working and pretty sure the frequency and amplitude switching is working, however, I still need to figure out the orientation of the knobs on the frequency/div & bandwidth/resolution stacked switch.? I was hoping someone who owns one of these units could tell me the settings of the frequency/div & bandwidth switches when they are set all the way clockwise (or counterclockwise).? I would greatly appreciate it!

Two months passed between when I first diassembled the front end of this plug-in and now.? So I forgot how the switches were oriented.? I apologize if this is a dumb question or that it should be intuitive.? I have never used a spectrum analyzer before this repair and never had the 8557A when it was in working condition.??

This repair definitely tested my patience.? I had to diassemble and reassemble the front at least 4-5 times to get things right so far.? But I think I finally have it right!? Added some photos.? I believe the peak is just LO feedthrough because there is no signal applied.??

Thanks for everyone's help with this!

If I may be forgiven for mentioning this for the second time in a few weeks... I just went through this exact same repair with the 1GC1-4210, made my own board, and have traced a (very limited) area around the divider, documented here? :

Also have a YT video about this E4402B that should be easy to find.

Could you tell me what you see? in the System (2) -> Show Hdwrd page, at the line “50ohm 3GHz input” ? I'd like to compile a list of hardware revisions and correlate to the type of divider IC used.

Re: HP 3852a extended memory modules info

looking at this the processor seems to work. Just fine. All signals are present. But the analyzer loading and long cable must be disrupting the signals too much.?
