Too bad they don't support X and an Ethernet port, or alternately a serial terminal port. Not a lot of other options besides a LIF formatted disk and GPIB/HPIB. I know hat some HP gear that supports X and also have a serial port, or support HPIB and have a serial terminal port allow the HPIB commands and data to be sent through the serial port as if it was an HPIB port. I have used this with some of my logic analyzers.

- The analyzer can output in serial. Perhaps capture that in a PC and use a simple BASIC or C program to strip and format the data automatically.
- I don't remember what the data printouts look like but wondering if the printer port could be hooked to a UART and data sent to the PC as serial data. Once at the PC, the data could be converted into a list of text values using a simple program in BASIC or C.? For printing, probably want EPSON mode. This could work if the analyzer does not have a serial printer port.
- I think the printer port can be put in GPIO mode and act like a parallel port. Same idea with a UART as above. Probably need a BASIC program to read the data and push it out the parallel port using the "OUTPUT @Nsomething" command. The BASIC commands are pretty powerful. Don't know if anyone has seriously tried this as it is probably not very obvious.

This has been a problem for a long time and most people end up circling back to using some GPIB adapter and custom GPIB software.

It's not unheard of for 2816 and 2864 NVRAMs to fail.

The 1818-3499 is a HP part number.
It also crosses to X2864A manufacture code 10572.

There may have been "snapshots" taken at several times. Be sure to check any snapshots covering the time when you think the SW was listed. Also, if it was on HP FTP site you might look to see if wayback covered that anytime.

I reached out to Schaffner directly and they said the following:

Our capacitor ratings X1, X2, Y1 or Y2, depending on the filter, and
should fail open. We use ceramic and Metalized Polypropylene Film caps
in our filters.

So, good news, new Schaffner filters should be free from metallized
paper failures.

Those are part numbers and date codes. The numbers ave nothing to do with the programming.

I'm not sure how to read the chip I see a lot of chip with 1826-1048 but not the first number 8639. Can someone enlighten me on this.

AFIK, the source modules are not connected to the 8430 in the same way they are connected to the 8350 (and also, I believe to the 8673).

I'm just starting to play with the source modules (HP series) and will let you know. I believe I will need to use the 8510 multiplier technique.

If you don't have the official modules, then this would indeed be the

controlling a pair of switches too. That way, you could get the full 10
MHz to 52 GHz in one sweep. That would be useful for things like time
domain low pass mode. I didn't see anything about that in the manual
though.
