98034A HPIB adaptor for 9825
All, I have unearthed a 98034A HPIB adaptor for the 9825 calculator. I will also post in the for sale group but have seen people discuss such items on here to so hope admins will allow this indiscretion. I don¡¯t have anything else related to this unit - although there appears to be plenty on the web. Looks in good condition - although I am unable to test it. If anyone would like to make me an offer for it, based in uk. Regards Nigel

HP8903A serial prefix 2414A service manual
Hi all!
I have an 8903A (with faults) and have been using the online edition of the 8903A manual (covering 1942A-2016A) fine for the CPU/latch/oscillator boards, but in the next stage of fault finding I need to look at the A6 oscillator amps / attenuators board and this is significantly different from the one illustrated (it has 3 relays). There is an online?8903B manual for 2450A to 2948A.
Board is 08903-60105?
The one in the 8903A manual?is 08903-60008 and the one in the 8903B is very different (08903-60132) the latter uses DACs as programmable amplifiers feeding signal in as VREF, the one I have appears to use JFETs to switch Rs in an opamp circuit.
Does anyone?know of the existence of a manual covering?2414A - or possibly revisions sheets explaining what changed? Would also be interested to know why... but that is probably too much to hope for!? If a real manual rather than electronic it would be the A6 board?I would like to know about (service sheets 10 & 11) even just schematics.
Alan Bain P.S. Faults so far include dead F8 CPU, a mask ROM 4 which output data when OE was high causing RAM test errors, leaky caps in sample and hold (C45/C39). Leaky electrolytics on A3 board on supply rails. To fix remains oscillator distortion too high; output level too high when 3V RMS from osc board. AC RMS meter?seems to work, notch filter not tested.

Not H-P, But definately about scopes: WTB Philips PM-3000/3010
Mini oscilloscopes are one of my
collecting and restoration interests.? I am looking for a Philps
PM-3000 or 3010. Need not be working, completeness is
important.? AND- I am still looking for a Tektronix 224 handheld
scope at a reasonable price. Thanks,

HP 8663A Keycode Stimulus Diagnostic
The keycode assembly on my HP 8663A is failing to interrupt the microprocessor. To narrow down the fault to an IC, I was hoping to use signature analysis on the keycode assembly. In the manual I have (2234A to 2927A, vol 2) under service sheet BD9 there is a "KEYCODE STIMULUS DIAGNOSTIC", which states the following:
This test stimulates the A2A1 Keycode Assembly for signature analysis testing. Refer to Service Sheets 61 and 62 troubleshooting information for procedures and the use of this Diagnostic.
However, when I refer to the these service sheets in vol 4 (same serial prefix range) I don't see any signature analysis information. Each service sheet contains a block diagram, a component locator and a schematic, but I don't see SA information on any of these. I was expecting to see 4-digit hex sequences by various nodes in the schematics. Or, I was expecting to see something like the signature analysis table in the "SIGNATURE ANALYSIS I/O DIAGNOSTIC". What am I missing?

Re: Attenuator calibration hp 54503a
What did you use to make the connection?

I already found the 54712 eeprom image that you shared. Do you have any possibility, to download same firmware from the other unit ? I would like to compare. I have one 54712 unit, but still don't have programmer.?

Sorry, no, I gave up and wrote off the 54720D. I have too many scopes anyway, from 100MHz to 50GHz, not enough incentive to spend more time on this. Meantime, watching for a 54717A, ideally someone owning one could dump the EEPROM. I know if I'd get one, this would be the first thing I'd do, this HP money grabbing calibration abomination has to end.
If someone wants to pick up, I can forward the 54712A EEPROM binary.

Re: Attenuator calibration hp 54503a
its sorted, when i first got this it had a bad psu, recapping the psu got it going,at the time i didnt have suitable load resistors to set the 5.2v output, when i finaly checked it was at about 5.8v,anyway i set it to 5.2 and recalibrated the scope,it now seems to be spot on,i can only think the first calibration i did when the psu output was too high caused the bad readings, after a recal its now fine.

Thanks and sorry Dave, I had no idea it was being held! It showed up in my inbox because it went to both lists.
