I'm always heartened and delighted when I hear of a CLIP for a new

Re: Agilent/Keysigh ESG series CLIP

I don't want to discard the Milan work that had to be massive, but those manuals appeared?a while back on ebay fro I think a lower price. This is how I obtained them. Could be around 2/3 years ago.?

I'm always heartened and delighted when I hear of a CLIP for a new type or class of instrument, just in case my HP-repairaholic habit kicks up again. I was momentarily worried when Milan declared this a "Last offer", but I think we'll be able to buy a copy from him for years to come.

While I'd certainly kick in a few bucks to group buy the scan into the public domain, I'd be just as comfortable buying it at-need from Milan.

Yes, humming, due to magnostriction, used to be a common problem in transformer designs; but, better steel and lamination design has made transformers quieter.
I know, it's a design issue in large power distribution transformers. (They used to hum annoyingly loud... but, are now smaller and quieter too.)
The hum can be a symptom of transformer core de-lamination.
It could also be an indication that the transformer is being run past its current(s) rating(s)... for whatever is causing that. (partly shorted filter cap?)

thank you first for the upload!
You're welcome.

Incidentally on page 145 is the power-supply 'A1' but no circuit sheet. I must repair on the board itself not to swap out the board.
Well I repair on the board itself so I do that for more then 35years - maybe you have a real service manual and not the how to do swap a board plan.
What you're looking for is the CLIP, Component-Level Information Package, which includes the schematics. I've never seen one available for the 54720D, but perhaps someone else knows better.

Hello Yves,

thank you for helping - but this is a service guide and I'm searching the circuit sheet to repair the power-supply but there is no sheet include.
maybe you know where I can get the Service Manual and not the plan how I can swap a board in the rack.

Best Regards
Volker

I want to bump this up to the top. I expected this disk to exist, so I'm shocked I haven't had a response.

Thanks in advance
