Verifying HP905A Sliding Load - request for further technical specs

Dear all,

I would verify some of our 'old' calibration equipment and my question is:
Does anybody have the spec sheet from the HP905A sliding load (1.8-18GHz)?

I'm interested in the following data:
- phase slope for lower/upper sliding position
- reflection group delay (max value)
- drawings (including tolerances)

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,

Stephan

fuse?)

Thanks a lot
Looking at a picture of 3457A, circular one is the fuse holder. The picture I found says 80mA for 220/240 and 200mA for 100/120mA next to it, in consistent with the message from "tmillermdems".

Re: HP 3457A mains voltage setting

Not certain about the settings (shouldn't it be in the manual?) but the fuse is generally 1/2 the 120 volt rating, and should be listed on the back.? I know that Tek generally has a "gross" setting, 120/240 and then a low/med/high adjustment for variations within that range.? For USA 120 volts, you generally want the high setting.

I'd suspect that HP did much the same, it makes too much sense.

Re: Hp8558b spectral analyzer (2/2)

Re,

I just disconnected the cable to the attenuator inlet.
there is no short circuit between the shield and the core
On the other hand, the connection is direct (0 ohm) between the N socket input and the end of the core.
So in fact I have trouble understanding the role of the capacitor (no 4)

Also: If I plug an ohmeter on the input of the attenuator I have an infinite impedance. Idem by moving the switch boutton. I don¡¯t know if that¡¯s normal, too, because we¡¯re still talking about 50 ohm impedance?

some ideas,

Running the Agilent vintage PDNs below 300KHz

I am curious what limits the E835xA PDNs to 300KHz and if there is a way to override it, with the understanding that the performance would be reduced???

Re: Hp8558b spectral analyzer (2/2)

Paul,

thank's for your answer.
That¡¯s the problem, I¡¯ve never been able to display a signal with the RF plug.

In fact, my first question was whether this catch was smeared because you can¡¯t see the silkscreens. There was supposed to be a BNC. It seems to be well connected to the attenuator input.

for display something:

In fact, my first question was whether this catch was smeared because you can¡¯t see the silkscreens. There was supposed to be a BNC. It seems to be well connected to the attenuator input

My second question was also to know which positions should be the main buttons to display a 20MHZ AM signal with a voltage of 0.3V.
I¡¯ve tested many combinations, we don¡¯t show any signal. Some ideas?

Indeed, by chance when I connected the calibration output to the LO socket, I display something. I know that¡¯s not the way it¡¯s supposed to work, it¡¯s really strange. It proves that some things work.

Normally input cable must be do like that (I thing)

on my analyzer it's like a small aluminium coaxial cable (2/3 mn diametral) from RF N input to the attenuator.
So the capacitor and other are directly on the plug and i don't see it? Capacitor burn???

I¡¯m going to test this cable, even if it means injecting a signal directly into the attenuator input with a 0.1 ?f capacitor whith a small signal?

Hi

?

From the video it appears you are not putting the test signal into the ?RF input ??why? ??

?

Also best advice is to get? a few adapters and leads rather than putting signals in with a bit of wire

?

as i saw, i nether see anyfing on the screen os the HP 182T.

Except!!!? Look at the vid¨¦o...very strange

All is good connected.? The input N go to the block attenuator

some id¨¦as??

I have the BTS laptop utility. It works perfectly on my 8935, but I can't get it to work on the 8924. I use the 8924 more because of it's auto-ranging feature.

Re: 8566B 1dB scale trace not linear at bottom of screen

Good advice Bruce, this is my initial findings, I will study more carefully.

Re: 8566B 1dB scale trace not linear at bottom of screen

I remember there being a variable resistor with fixed resistors that needed to be changed only if the variable did not provide enough range. Think I'd read a bit more B4 proceeding.

Cheers!

I found the 1dB adjustment in the manual

The 1dB step adjustment procedure in the manual involves fixed resistors which I must swap to adjust, the test calls for clipping the trace on the top of the screen and measuring the amount it supposed to go over. I don't believe I noticed anything unusual before with the trace clipped so I think that is ok.

FS 3709B 8656A 8657J

Hi!

I am selling two sig-gens and constellation analyzer:

- 8656A uncal, some scratches, no option, working fine, accurate and clean wave generation. 4 key springs missing, but working fine. Original operation and service manual included
- 8657J sealed, calibrated, combo with pi/4 dqpsk modulator, perfect working and cosmetic conditions
- 3709B himself (bright crt, very clean, working fine but uncal) plus operation & service original manuals (the service is vhtf), 15709A impedance adapter, siemens 1.6-5.6 to bnc adapters, and handle & standoff feet kit.

I am from Madrid, Spain. PM me if you are interested for photos and so.

HP 11708A Reference Attenuator

Hello, I luck to found one HP 11708A Reference Attenuator for the 8484A power sensor, one god 30dBm attenuator is ok to use?

Re: 8566B 1dB scale trace not linear at bottom of screen

As I remember, it is easy, but there are several adjustments that should be done B4 if you want the thing to be overall accurate. I think you can just touch up the attenuation and get off with out touching the LOG amp or VIDEO amp adjustments. These are a bit more time consuming.

Cheers!

The replies are appreciated.

I will study the manual and if it is simple I will attempt to adjust it.
