Thank you so much for your help. the manual service I have dated October 1977. It is the 90043 You have to look at the first page. see my picture If yours is older (<90043) . That might help me.
It is necessary to look in the middle of the documentation the diagram of the control of the displays.?This is the section that explains the whole panel A1, A2, etc.?All my display block is made of 5 small circuit boards (see photos in previous posts). You will also have to look at the end of the manual, everything that follows the schematic of the motherboard A16, you will see the connection of the DPM if you can scan all this part and make available as a file it will be a big progress thank you. I am not near of Paris.

Re: Old HP 8558B spectral analyzer
Hello sir ,
I have a paper service manual from 1975 that covers early models
, including 1321Axxx , and a working 8558B from that era ,
If this helps...am in France near Fontainebleau ,
you may come fetch both for comparing test points , and once
finished give back , I don't want to sell them

Hello
Froggie the Gremlin and Don
Thanks for yours answers
Yes
this analyzer had a lot of version.
The
serial number is 1321Axxxx.
I
consulted 3 service manual HP
90043,
90061 and 90102.
None of
this type DPM display.
It must
be very old.?It may be the first
generation.?It
probably has previous documentation but don't known the
90xxx number. (<90043)
If
you have the schematic, it will help me a lot.
I found the display datasheet.
When going up from the display, the 7 pin power power supply is not at the high level via the control transistor. I went up to a 7410 circuit (leg 12). I have to look at the conditions at 1,2 and 13.
This is where I am, but with
the schematic it will go faster
again I hand over the pictures of the DPM? display set

Re: GPIB Disk emulator/HP8753B
Hi Rik thank you for your suggestion. I will investigate this additional possibility. My problem is that I do not have any competence about computers and it is difficult for me to understand? this matter. Regards IZ2ZNC Gianfranco

Richard I like your note, I have 5 of these some with the leather cases, from an avionics CRT HV power supply production tester, 1980s
Unlike digital meters the analog Simpsons are not killed by Hv or arcs.
Have to Unearth them from the subbasement.

GPIB Disk emulator/HP8753B
Hi all I have a VNA HP8753B.There are 3 possibilitie to memorize data to an external support : - external disk HP9122 - GPIB Disk emulator of Anders G. - 9753.exe the sw from KE5FX e PC is needed. I ask the collegues of the group if they have experience of any of the A.M. options and their suggestion. Thanks IZ5ZNC Gianfranco ?

Re: Old HP 8558B spectral analyzer
For a TTL NAND/ANG gate, the additional low input doesn't change
the low level fanout, the high level fanout does change by 1.?
These inputs are all emitters for the same transistor.
For OR gates, the input structure has a transistor for each
input, and it will increase the low level fanout.? High level
increases by one as well.
Yep, tie an unused input to a used input, same gate, of course.?
Subject to the above.

You mean tie an unused input to a used input,
correct?
Doing that will work just fine as long as the
fan-out of the driving gate is not exceeded.

I no longer know what a leg not connected on a logic Nand do
(state Hight or low?)? , but if considered "low", it will
not work.
You must have the tree gate at Hight
see table:

So, i will look that to morrow

Re: Chips for 5315A/B counter: 1820-2131 and 1820-2312
The guy who developed Retroshields has options to put a number of processors (just the processors like a Z80, MC6803, 8085 etc) on a plugin board for a Arduino Mega, and is using the Arduino to control the CPU fully, clocking it in AVR software, providing ram/rom for it etc. So it basically provides the address space for it. I that case I would just set some MC6801 code to do a blockmove to the 'RAM' of the AVR, and export that as intel Hex or S19. I do have most parts (including the GAL) as an alternative to that with this project:??so I could go that route - it would help too to read the chip. Are there more instruments HP made which use that controller?
