ESG3000A (E4421A) signal generator - datasheet for 1GG3 series amplifiers
Hello everyone.
My ESG 3000A became faulty (unlevel indicated) some 20 (!) years ago but I finally now have time to repair it. Relatively fixed frequency output noise (broadband peaks at circa 200 MHz and 700 MHz) was associated with one of the 1GG3 4205 (SOP-8 packaged) amplifers in the output module. Removing the amplifer fixed that problem but, and with no surprise with an amplifier removed, the output level remains out of specification. Does anyone have access to, or can point me in the direction of, a datasheet for 1GG3 4205? Ideally, I'd have data for all the 1GG-series devices (1GG3-4206 output amp and 1GG7-4225 modulator). I've seached but can find no information. Thanks. |
Re: A6A1 HV unit for HP8563A-Has anyone got a spare one?
开云体育Hi,
The part number referenced in the 8563-SG service guide (replaceable parts Table 4.4 page 243 attached) is 5062-7089 mfr code 28480. There is also a part number 08562-60040 referenced in a schematic attached in a reply in the thread linked to below. Also my instrument is a HP8563E not type A as first mentioned. Thanks. David. HP 4815A test and calibrate
I am gathering the test equipment needed and looking for information to make up the Special Test Cables. I should be able to make them and test the characteristics but don't know how long they are. I suspect the lengths are chosen to allow the two signals measured to line up on the scope screen if the pulse delay between the two signals is set correctly.?

Re: A6A1 HV unit for HP8563A-Has anyone got a spare one?
The repair would be very hard and questionable reliability as the potting must be vacuum to avoid air voids.
Try Walter at Sphere Research in BC CA, he may have a clew. Finally look for a junker unit at a ham flea, I think many similar HP SA used the same HV module in the display. Bon Chance, Jon |
Re: 4262A LCR meter repair help
Bonjour, I have these types of HP bridges since 1980s. The manuals are readily available and have troubleshooting flow charts.
I have not looked into my 4262A in 20 years ...my memory. I think it has many PCB on edge connectors. Oxidation on the card edges can cause intermittents. Remove, and clean all PCB card edges and main board connectors, iso alc or Deoxit. This often fixes it! The relays can be easily checked and cleaned (except reed relays, which seldom fail). Re: 4262A LCR meter repair help
I just repaired a HP 4271B
The problems were mostly in the relays. The relays switch function from L to C and also control the ranges 1,2,3 ....etc I think the 4262 also uses relays for some these purposes, I think it does for Ranges. See what Ranges work, I think there are four relays that in different combinations are engaged in different ranges. Also, you might be missing a test freq, SelfTest can apparently be done with different settings. Maybe help to isolate the problem. There are several Ranges on your LCR, you have either 7 or 8 ranges. 5 of these ranges are used with C. There are 3 test freq, 120 Hz, I KHz and 10 KHZ, should be easy to find on the H Cur BNC Terminal. P37 Service, maybe you are missing one. I am guessing that the 120 Hz is only used in the highest C range on Auto, try other Freq with your .95 cap. After that, I would start with page 195/264 of the service manual. Wally KC9INK |

89441A tombstone
Hi, all, Well, hallowe'en may have been yesterday, but this AM my trusty 98441A (S/N 3416A01840, options 1C2, AY7, AY9, AYA, AYH, and UFG seems to have passed beyond the veil: The RF unit is not connected. It passes POR fine, but then falls over as the main app is starting. Suggestions? Thanks Phil Hobbs ElectroOptical Innovations LLC Briarcliff Manor NY |
HP 8156A Optical Attenuator With Option 100 1310/1550 nm SM but with a fault 0040
Hi all
just returning to doing a bit of electronics as I have been out of it long before covid due to health reasoned but hopefully 90 % sorted now? as Part of a hands on Lab area for giving hands on testing experience to those new out of collage and university i want to set up a bench for Optical work? already set up RF & optical TDR but now want to look at path loss? so have acquired? a few bits most not Hp but just won a HP 8156? with a fault 0040 can any one help with service manual as the operators manual does not have the fault 0040 listed also any information on the plug in also looking for a optical transmitter hopefully 1.31 or 1.55 um such as a HP 83430 Pictures of work dun earlier this year on the hands on Lab area can be Sean in the pictures on this site labelled ghs noting the area did not exist in February 2021 and took 25 days to complete including populating 10 off 19 inch? racks out of shot at Zero cost / budget? A6A1 HV unit for HP8563A-Has anyone got a spare one?
Hi,
Does anyone have a spare A6A1 HV assembly for a HP8563A spectrum analyser available that they don't need? I've read this topic /g/HP-Agilent-Keysight-equipment/topic/hp8563_hv_supply_repair/30316093 and it appears that these can not be repaired easily. Or does someone know of someone who CAN repair these units? Thanks. David. |
looking for 54121A CLIP, burnt R108 resistor
Hello,
I am currently working on a 54121A Test Set for my 54120A Sampling Scope. The problem: R108 in channel 4 on the Vertical PCA is burnt out completely, leaving a charred PCB and heavily burnt adjacent resistors. From what I could figure out is that it likely is a voltage drop/decoupling resistor. Thanks to three other channels having R107, R106 and R105 in the same circuitry location, I could figure out the value of this resistor (6R8). I swapped it for a new one, put an amp meter in between and powered up the unit with a FLIR camera in place to check if it would heat up again. But no problems detected, the unit works. Lacking a component-level SM, the function of R108... is not entirely clear, thus I cannot find out the reason why it burned in the first place. Could be a temporarily conductive tantal cap downstream (lots of these three-legged beasts are used in this unit for filtering +/-15V), but who knows. Before I start to re-engineer the schematic: is anybody out there in possession of a CLIP or at least a schematic of this unit? I bought the full set of manuals from Dave already, but it actually does not contain a CLIP for the Test Set. Funny enough: the unit from another forum member I am in contact with shows exactly the same burnt R108 resistor. Coincidence? Did anybody else have the same problem in the past? Thanks Chris |

Well okay, my two cents' worth.? I own two 200CDs, one is a rack mount version.? They both work well. Bob

??? It is interesting that the HP200CD has gotten so much attention. I still have several around somewhere. The high output it provides
often useful.

ifi I EFS-1 RF E-FIELD meter manual
开云体育
I need a manual for an IFI EFS-1 RF E-FIELD meter.
Not a precision device by any means but it is useful for field E-Field measurements for ham radio.
I have one that appears to work, and it is very simple. Electrically short antennas, source follower with diode detector, op-amp and meter.
However, it also comes with a longer antenna with a capacitive hat. That one puzzles me.
A manual would be very useful, particularly if it has schematics of this meter and the accessories.
