Re: YIG Oscillator Info?
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHave you looked in the ????(? The YIG ?) ?folder on this sight ? ? ? ? From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Steve J. Noll, WA6EJO via groups.io ? ? I have these three HP YIGs to check out. I find zero info on them online. I found the "Operating and Service Manual" for a network analyzer one of them came from... no schematics! (How can a "Service" manual not have schematics?!)? The YIGs: 5086-7538, 5086-7323, and 5086-7268. They have IC sockets for interface so I'm looking for info on what I have to hook up to make them work. All I know is I think they need +20V and -10V, but nothing more. ?? 73, Steve WA6EJO |

I did write a software which allows to modify a given EEPROM binary which also automatically updates the checksums. If useful I can upload it. ?

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýNice work!? The 83712Bs are less common and more expensive, so that¡¯s a very worthwhile upgrade.? I can see how the empty space reserved for the low-band board was an irresistible temptation. ? And thanks for the heads-up on the Skyworks diode.? ¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI wonder if a dump of the EPROMs would show any interesting SCPI strings that might involve writing to the EEPROM so the coefficients could be written without disassembly while also calculating the checksums.
There had to have been service software running on a 9845 or a series 200/300 system for factory setup. I suspect it¡¯s not available, but the books left behind for it to run are likely there if found.

Thanks a lot, very interesting read! I also upgraded my 83752B with a 24V step attenuator, while the original one uses 15V. Also seems to work fine. One the 8375X series, there's a attenuator calibration table to compensate each attenuator setting. Does the 8371X have such tables? |

Re: Sphere Inc's HP (and Tektronix) Parts Inventory - tekandhpparts.com
Tom, It's a monumental task, I know. I've been contemplating?building a website for something similar to this, and my cogs have come to a grinding?halt several times.? I command your efforts with this! And I, and I'm?sure others, will be happy to help any way we can.? Radu.? On Sun, May 18, 2025 at 4:56?PM Tom via <jtnorman=[email protected]> wrote:

Re: Sphere Inc's HP (and Tektronix) Parts Inventory - tekandhpparts.com
Excellent. Thanks for doing this. I wanted to get up to Kelowna for many years - I almost made it during a business trip to Vancouver. The store of parts and slide rules at Sphere have saved my butt several times. DaveD KC0WJN On Sun, May 18, 2025 at 19:58 Tom via <jtnorman=[email protected]> wrote:

Thank you for the suggestion Radu.? We agree completely and it is on the "to do" list once we get reasonably close to completing a first pass inventory.? In the meantime, I'm happy to go snap a picture for anyone needing it.

Re: E4407B schematics
Hi David,
?
Schematics are available (the CLIP from Artek under E4401B) but they only have ONE of the (at least) two versions of the RF Deck. The version in the CLIP is the same as that documented in the Signal Path video. The CLIP says the assy# is E4403-60057. So you should check yours prior to purchasing. As far as I know, schematics for the newer versions are not available.
?
Good luck!

Re: HP 8568B Instr Check Light?
Just a follow up.? I finally picked up the unit today for $190.? Turns out you guys nailed it.? The 50 pin connector was broken and the seller probably did not have it seating properly.? I fixed the connector up a little to get the pins in order, carefully plugged the units together, and it is working.? Looks like the connector is available for about $20, so I will be ordering one.?
?
It is a nice clean unit.? |

Did you send this message to the TekScopes2 forum as well? I haven't seen this on that forum. DaveD KC0WJN On Sun, May 18, 2025 at 13:21 Tom via <jtnorman=[email protected]> wrote:
