Re: Application Note 122: EMI Measurement Procedure
I just checked my banana box of appnotes* and found AN122.
Weirdly, the spine just says "EMI Measurement Procedure" and the big "AN 122" on the front cover is an afterthought, put on there with a slightly skewed rubber stamp. Subtitled "Calibration and Operation of the HP 851B/8551B Spectrum Analyzer to Measure Electromagnetic Interference" 1st page: "02464-1 Printed February 1968" 154 pages total. Comes with a Business Reply mail postcard "Please reserve my copy of HP App Noe 63E - making fast emi measurements with a spectrum analyzer". I might fill that out, assuming HP is still at 1501 Page Mill Road and Alan Steiner is still with the Microwave Division. And like a cereal packet, there's a bonus - a "8511/851 Spectrum Analyzer RFI/EMI Calibration Slide Rule" in on envelope glued to the inside back cover. Sweet! * Saw 4 banana boxed of "service manuals" being auctioned on the NZ auction Site (eBay is 2nd fiddle here in NZ), looking at the pictures spotted an HP logo on top of one of the piles - hey, that looks like an HP App Note! - got them for a song - a nationwide courier company owed me a favour (long story) and I got them shipped for free. 1 box of app notes (possibly from the estate of someone high up at HP Australia?), and 3 boxes of service manuals for tape decks, electric organs etc etc. Long tertm plan will be to scan the ones that aren't there already. Cheers, Andy ZL3AG |
Re: HP 8656A A6 board U1 1020-2933 is bad
Hi Again There is a seller in Switzerland with three available, but sit down first, they will cost about $60 each plus shipping. Question 2. I have searched for the? SP8606B chip and can not find one for sale without asking for a quote from the obsolete part vendors. Re: HP 8656A A6 board U1 1020-2933 is bad
Hi Richard HP part number 1820-2933 is a Plessey Semiconductors SP8606B. This is a 1.3GHz divide by two ECL Logic device. Plessey Semiconductors were manufactured in Swindon UK. Looks like your A6 Board was manufactured and designed at the HP plant in Scotland. Now probably hard to come by. Lots of funky things happening with my emails in last week ..I went looking tonight based on your most recent email and there they were. I have gotten a lot of emails days after they were sent recently. Suspect that all the work and school from home has done strange things to my ISP ??? Anyway I just sent the refund and I see the pages you scanne3d. I will knit that schematic for you so it is continuous Dave On 4/16/2020 9:01 PM, Daniel Nelson wrote:

Re: Advantest R3767BH VNA date+time setting
Hi Jesse,
Although I'm not familiar with your particular VNA, I've found with a lot of T&M gear that when setting the date, time, or any other numeric entry, you need to press the Enter key or its equivalent (e.g., Hz, x1, etc.) after you key in the new value. Otherwise, the value will not be updated. Regards, Stan |
