Hello all,
I hit a deer in WY with my brand new car. They are probably going to total it. My GAP insurance will pay off the loan but I am probably going to be left on foot. I am getting out of working on electronics. I have a HP 16700A LA and 16700B expansion unit for sale. There are 5 16555D cards in the 16700A. The interconnect cable for the the 16700B is here. There are five pairs of cables for the 16555Ds. There are terminators for the cables and clips. The HDD in the 16700A has been upgraded to a Seagate ST 318417N and there is an external HDD and case connected to the system for extra storage. There is also a SCSI CD-Rom drive and a floppy drive installed in the 16700A. The latest OS has also been installed.
It will take two very large boxes and a smaller box to packaged it up for shipping. So shipping will be expensive. Local pick up is welcome. It operates and all of the cards are good. I will guarantee no DOA. Please make me a fair offer and help me out with this. I will take Paypal F&F, Money Order, Cashiers Check, Personal Check but it will be held until the check clears.

Hi Jesse,
Although I'm not familiar with your particular VNA, I've found with a lot of T&M gear that when setting the date, time, or any other numeric entry, you need to press the Enter key or its equivalent (e.g., Hz, x1, etc.) after you key in the new value. Otherwise, the value will not be updated.

I bought the Advantest VNA at an auction recently, and the date+time is
forever Midnight Jan 1 1970. The battery was dead (probably long dead),
I replaced it, and ... still nothing. I can't set the date/time, and
the timestamp on the display don't change, curiously. Simply not
running, and all attempts to set it fail. Which is particularly curious.
I can save/restore configurations fine.
The next step is to replace the RTC chip, it is the Epson RTC62423A,
obsolete but obtainable. The crystal is in the chip, and there is no
clock output (firmware reads/writes registers to read/set the time), so
it isn't easily verified via a scope if it is internally running or not.
When the VNA boots up, the RTC self test passes, another curious
thing. It may be only that this chip responds, not that it is actually
counting time.
What would be great to know, as a total newbie with this unit, is that I
am in fact trying to set the time correctly. Here's what I do:
System -> Set Clock -> Year, and the display says 1970. I key in 1971
and press the Year softkey again. The display jumps back to 1970. This
behavior is the same for month/day/hour/min/second.
