Confederation Bridge to DX LODGE
?
It is 1 hour from the Confederation Bridge to the PEI DX Lodge.
After leaving the bridge, you will pass the small town of Bordon. After a few minutes you will come to an overpass, stay right to take the Summerside exit. You will go under the overpass. Follow this road until you reach Summerside.
Stay right at the first intersection (there is a service station on the left.) You will come to the end of the road where you will turn left toward Tignish.
About 40 minutes after that you will pass the turn-off to O'Leary. You will pass a school on your right and a sign for the Rodd Mill River Resort.
You will see a sign for Route 146 on your right. Turn left on to Route 146 (Duvar Road.) 0.4 miles down that road you will turn right onto Robertson Rd.

The road curves right. Make a left immediately before the mailbox into the PEI DX lodge driveway.
BRIDGE TOLL:
Tolls are collected as you leave Prince Edward Island. The current passenger car toll is $CAD $50.25.
Confederation Bridge tolls are charged based on a vehicle’s axle-count and are calculated for the round-trip, regardless of the user’s initial point of entry to Prince Edward Island. Bridge tolls are collected when leaving Prince Edward Island at the toll plaza in Borden-Carleton, PE. Cash, Interac, and all major credit cards are accepted.
Confederation Bridge tolls are tax-exempt.

Air Travel Testing Deleted + Reminder of Monday Meeting June 13
The Biden administration is expected to announce today that the will lift its requirement for travelers to test negative for Covid-19 before entering the US, according to a senior administration official. The move will go into effect for US-bound air travelers at midnight on Sunday, June 12.

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Commuters will no longer have to wear masks on P.E.I. public transit as of Friday.
Chief public health officer Dr. Heather Morrison announced the
mandate would be lifted in a news release, noting that while masks
aren't required, they are recommended.?
“We continue to recommend masks in public places across Prince Edward
Island,” said Morrison. “It’s important for Islanders to continue to
practice preventive measures such as hand washing, wearing a

Lighthouse Weekend target
VK2FM, Freddo, and two others from the Three Coffs Harbour Radio Club?will operate from South Solitary Island (OC-194) during the?International Lighthouse & Lightship Weekend, August 20-21.? He says?it's a modest operation due to the weight, space and cost restrictions?in hiring the Bell 206 helicopter for the trip.? It is a 20-minute?flight.? They have received the needed permission from the government?office overseeing the island and have made the arrangements with the?local helicopter company, Precision Helicopters.? The island is 23?acres and is 18 kilometers northeast of Coffs Harbour.? The three?operators will be VK4NGN, VK2VK and VKI2FM.? They will be on the?island starting at midday Friday local time until midday Monday.? The?QTH is the light-keeper's cottage next to the lighthouse.? They will?have a G5RV antenna on HF and 5/8 wavelength vertical for 2M.? They?plan 80, 40 and 20M on HF.??? Freddo has?been on the island many times over the years, "looking after the radio?telephone system with its solar powered battery system," as a?technician working for Telstra.

Daily/Weekly DX Announcement
I just sent Bernie a preliminary "sketch" of our plans in response to his request for general DX trip info.
No specifics other than dates and operators.
We can figure out operating modes (from the Lodge and portable) and QSL routes over the next month or two. Options are individual photos and cards or a group shot like our J6 endeavor. I would think the former would be better for portable/lighthouse op's, but a bit more individual 'bother'.
We can discuss tomorrow and again in June.
