Go/No-Go?Decision for Mac and Lynn (NOTE: No "e” in spelling of Lynn’s name; grin)?a.?The border must be open to Canada and the COVID-19 issues must have subsided to a comfortable/reasonable?level. ?b. We will be driving up from TN through New England, crossing at St. Stephen most likely (route TBD in June or July). ?c.?Mac will leave depost in the kitty for 2022 as necessary.
Item #5. (Alternative 2021 locations). I have a partial list of New England coastal locations/rentals possibly available, some in State or National Park properties. I will research/update further between now and our Zoom meeting.?

Re: A group meeting is suggested
We could go a week earlier on Wednesday, April 14...it’s a week ahead of the current Canada/US border closure current end date...which they have been moving forward each time by a month. ?
Then:
Wednesday, 14 April at 2100 Z would be 2:00 pm pdt and 4:00 pm cdt. I believe that would be 9:00 am ?(15 April) for Peter in New Zealand.

Lynn and I are now (tomorrow) at the 'full efficacy' point for the Moderna juice. Still masking up and carrying my pointy-stick to keep the public at bay, about to tap bottle #3 of my Purell stock. We keep used travel shampoo type bottles filled with it in both the cars and often in a pocket depending on where we're going.
Hanging on, getting antsy, mood variable (may need to spend more time at an outdoor range and luxuriate in the smell of burnt gunpowder)...

Let’s see if we can set the date/time for our ZOOM meeting.
Wednesday, 21 April at 2100 Z would be 2:00 pm pdt and 4:00 pm cdt. I believe that would be 9:00 am ?(April 22) for Peter in New Zealand.
How?does that sound?
When we get the date/time set, I’ll send a Zoom invitation.

Anyway we're going to have a Zoom or phone Conference in mid April and hopefully some of the questions will be resolved.?
Glad to hear that St. Patrick's day was alive in Auckland.?

Hi team, I have been watching developments here with interest. It seems we may get the vaccination in May or June so in theory could be ready to fly in August BUT it all depends on things like quarantine requirements, coming and going, and seat availability. Fingers crossed. Otherwise, we have been very fortunate to have life pretty much as normal, we even had a St Patricks day parade in Auckland. ? Keep safe and be kind. (to quote our Prime Minister) ? ? Nga mihi ? Peter Moore ZL2HM ? ? ? ? Just a snippet from this morning's BBC feed re: Quantas Airlines and possible vaccine requirements:
"Last month Qantas pushed back the date at which it expects its international flights to resume from July to the end of October. That's the point at which the Australian government hopes to have vaccinated all adults and the date for which the airline is now selling international tickets. "The number one flight by a significant amount is Perth to London non-stop," says Mr Joyce. The demand for the ultra-long haul flights is, he says, "a good indication" that after pandemic passengers will try to avoid changeovers in airports filled with other people."
Obviously not to be taken as definitive, but something to add to the mix for us (especially Peter). I think it will be a while before the travel industry irons out the wrinkles. I am beginning to (very) slowly research Stateside possibilities for "extended recreation sites". Preferably near salty water...

Re: A group meeting is suggested
Hi to you all from way down here. I will probably be away on 19th but will keep in touch about that. Otherwise a quiet life continues. Joe, I had my Astoria tee shirt on the other day and smiled when I chose it. I am glad you are all getting vaccinated. It must be of some relief to get it. We have had a few cases of community spread of the Covis virus so are restricted a little for another week. Still v lucky we can close the borders so effectively. Vaccinations have started here but I don’t expect one until May or June. Lots of other people closer to the virus than us here in the countryside. In the words of our Prime Minister, Keep safe and be kind ? ? Nga mihi ? Peter Moore ZL2HM ? ? ? ? ?

I suggest we hold it after April 21 so we’ll see what happens with the April date now in place. How about the week of April 19? How do your calendars look?? The tests can be taken at either “the traveler’s quarantine location or at a border testing site,” according to Canada’s Public Health Agency. The move is in response to growing concerns over new COVID-19 variants. “We’ll continue to do whatever is necessary to keep Canadians safe,” Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau previously stated over Twitter. Essential workers such as healthcare professionals, delivery trucks and airline crew members are still permitted to travel between countries. Previously, Trudeau announced that travelers entering via a land border will be required to produce the result of a negative COVID-19 PCR test. People who fail to do so could be fined up to $2,370. This requirement went into effect on Feb. 15. In early February, Canada extended its ban on cruise ships, prohibiting vessels carrying 100 or more people until Feb. 28, 2022. The ban also effectively closes the Canadian Arctic to boat-related tourism until 2022 and puts the entire Alaska cruise season in jeopardy. In January, Canada?for travelers arriving by air: As of Jan. 7, all travelers ages 5 or older must present a negative COVID-19 test result prior to boarding any flight entering Canada from another country. All travelers to Canada are also required to take a PCR test upon arrival and pay for a three-day quarantine in a government-approved hotel while waiting for the result of the test. If the traveler’s test returns a negative result, they will be able to finish their mandatory 14-day quarantine at home. If a traveler’s test comes back positive, they will be required to quarantine in designated government facilities. The country has?. Sometime in early April would be reasonable. Everett if you agree can you set a date for the meeting? As it stands now, Nancy and I would fly. We have saved credits on Air Canada from the postponed 2020 trip. We would want to have our flights booked a month before our Aug adventures. So by July 18.
