Re: A group meeting is suggested
Pretty much any day/time mid-late April works for Lynn and me. Only on the 9th and 22nd we have some dr's. appointments, late morning but longish drive to and fro. Should be available by 3pm CDT (2000Z) afterwards though. Any other day is wide open right now. Let us proceed to zoom on...

Re: A group meeting is suggested
Hi Ev,
Nancy and I just enjoyed a sports car drive to Astoria. Good weather plus it gave me an opportunity to pay my annual Colombia River Maritime Museum membership.
I'm open the week of April 19, so after others respond, let me know the specific date for our PEI meeting via phone or Zoom.
I can make up an agenda and send it to you during March. You have travel coming up, so don't worry about preparing a meeting agenda. You can take whatever I give you and modify it any way you choose.?
Cheers, Joe?

A meeting to update our thinking and planning is a good idea.? I¡¯m thinking mid to late April hoping we get some insight into the border crossing...and give New Zealand time to open (at least to first world partners) after vaccination results begin to show themselves.? I suggest we hold it after April 21 so we¡¯ll see what happens with the April date now in place. How about the week of April 19? How do your calendars look?? Of course, a Zoom meeting just to check in would be great anytime now!

Well, Tennessee finally shifted to 50 years old and up (still at 1a1, 1a2 risk category) so I¡¯ve ¡¯signed us up¡¯! Some 350 or so in front of us I guess. No way to be sure. So we¡¯re in line for a needle-stick. Maybe this week, maybe next month, maybe sometime in the fall. Who knows? The way this state operates it¡¯s anybodies guess. Mac/wt4bt Oh, Joe and Ev, ?I ¡®ran into¡¯ Bob Cady/W7JNM from out your way (Portland near Hillsboro) via Zoom last night. He said he doesn¡¯t know either of you but would keep an eye/ear out for you. Seems to be a nice guy.

Looks good, Mac. You are starting to put together a nice list of Caribbean QTHs.
Price wise it's more expensive,? at $675/nite, than our usual villa. But of course it has a tower and a real QTH. However our?Chateaux Deveau comes with a vehicle. I can't recall the price that we paid the Devaux's? ut it was around $3200-$3400 per week or 8 days. However while under house arrest, they all look wonderful.?
It would be nice to get Peter to some of our Caribbean places. He likes warm.

OK Guys, read this! Another reason to go back to J6! In the latest NCJ magazine at <> or direct (maybe) <> the article starting on page 4. The J68HZ contest station is now open for business and a new villa will be available for rent mid-2021. Chateau Devaux for relaxing and a week at Villa Grand Piton for some hard-core action! Re: New Border Closure Extension
Of course, from 1974-1978 I pastored at Pearl Harbor (mostly navy and Air Force). The VA doesn¡¯t credit civilian service.

You may be able to be vaccinated by the VA before the State of TN.

I think all airlines will be following that protocol, and most, if not all, will require ¡°Proof of Vaccination¡± in some form or other.
I figure Lynn and I will be due for sticking in late February/early March if the State of TN gets their collective act together. Rollout seems very slow and disorganized here, quantities of juice to many counties very limited from most reports.

My guess is that when/if the Canadian border opens, it will only be open for those that have been vaccinated. Assuming that I can get vaccinated in February, my 2nd shot would be in March, and effectiveness would come in April. I'm sure that Air Canada will only fly vaccinated passengers.?
It will be interesting to see how this works out.?

Re: New Border Closure Extension
Well, since there is no supply available to start the planned ramp-up of vaccinations, I¡¯m guessing that the ¡°esitmated time of sticking¡± will now be later rather than sooner. Continuing to hold my breath. May re-purpose some old SCUBA gear for walkabouts¡
