RPF 184 released

Hi folks,

I am happy to release RPF 1.8.4. This release is merely a maintenance release.
The code is heavily optimized. More than 1,300 lines are saved.
And this release have modifications for the ARCHIVER (like the 'F' line command in option 3.1)

Finally some minor enhancements are made and minor bugs are fixed.
You will find RPF on

Cheers,
Rob

Rob,

The archiver works fine but when I try and list my TEST.ARCHIVE vsam file in 3.4 it does not find it. RFE does. I looked at your manual and I did not find a restriction on this. If I put in the volume I can list it and browse it even. Of course the test.archive cluster is not there.?

Hi Don,

Thanks for your suggestion.

I've made a little change in RPF 3.4. and now you see TEST.ARCHIVE.
But you cannot browse a VSAM file in 3.4. I know that RFE can browse VSAM clusters.
This will be a future enhancement of RPF. I consider to invoke IDCAMS to process a
PRINT statement.

But why do you need to browse an archive in 3.4? You have option 3.9.
RPF 184 is now also available on cbttape.org, Look in de Updates section.
After obtaining FILE415.XMI and uploading to your MVS system, run job $XMIT370 to
RECEIVE the LOADXMIM member to create the RPF load library.
After copying the load modules to SYS2.CMDLIB, your new version is installed.

Thanks again for your suggestion for browsing VSAM clusters.

Cheers,
Rob

Rob,
Thanks for the enhancement. I don¡¯t need to browse test.archive..I was just using it as an example of a KSDS that is all.
