Hello all,

I try to set the syntax coloring in REVEDIT, but do not know the relevant command (HILITE does not work).

The HELP in REVEDIT shows only the first page. If I select say the item LINE COMMANDS, the mask is closed.

My questions:

- which command can I use for the syntax coloring?
- why I can't select a menu item in HELP (see above)?
- is there any (Web...?) documentation for the REVEDIT (as well for the REVIEW)?

- The command is HILITE with parameter AUTO / ASM / CLIST / JCL / PLI / DATA / OFF
- Your keyboard shoud have F7/F8 and/or Pag Up/Pag Down... use this keys to scroll up&down in the help
- In the Subcommand field enter (i.e.) HILTE and you go to the specific command help
- I don't know if there is other source for help.

thank you for the quick reply.

I've tried hilite pli as you have proposed. Only the constants and the operands are colored, but no keywords.

And: I've already tried before PF7/8 in HELP, but the HELP screen disappears at any try.

I use MVS TK5 (by Rob Prino).

That's all you get, there's no such thing as a configuration file, it's all build-in, you can't define a different language of your choice.
As for scrolling in the help the only thing I can say is to check how the keys are assigned in your terminal emulator. I assure you that with the wc3270 correctly configured it works.

BTW, I use Vista 3270 from Tom Brennan as emulator. It works fine on my corporate mainframe.

OK I think I got it.
You are launching REVEDIT from a Wally's ISPF panel.
The ISPF help "mechanism" take over the REVEDIT own help.
