Is the number of cylinders 2 bytes signed?
2 bytes logical can get you to 64k.
And if you want EAV you are going to need more bytes.
Right now it is 16 *64k = 1M (849G) for the current z/OS.
Cylinder field expandable to 4K*64K = 256M (216T).

It does appear to execute for 3390-3, 3390-9 and 3390-27, they were able to be uploaded and seem to be perfectly fine and useable, but still the 3390-54 doesn't work. Does anyone have a CCKDDU64 that was changed for 3390-54 dasd?
