I can confirm that I have d6.0a running here as well, on an M1 Ultra Mac Studio running macOS 13.5.1. The hercules version is?4.7.0.11007-SDL-DEV-gcddce71b building using Hercules-Helper?v0.9.14-43-g88ec36e-dirty back in July.

I know nothing about MTS, but I played with it once out of curiosity to get it up and running.? Since I still had the image laying around, I tried running it on Hercules 4.7 running in an Ubuntu 22.04 Hyper-V VM on Windows 10.? MTS appeared to run fine.? It IPLed, I was able to log on as ST01 and do some of the things described at try-mts.com, and I shut it back down.

Hercules was version "Hercules version 4.7.0.10956-SDL-DEV-g1645bfa2", built using hercules-helper on 6/18/2023.? Not bleeding edge, but I don't use that Linux/Hercules all that often.? If necessary, I can upgrade to current and run the test again.

I'll attach the log and config files so you can see what I did.

I found a copy on the Internet Archive's Wayback machine, but I have no idea whether it's the "current" one or not. I simply presume it is. It's "d6.0A". Is that the current version?

Click on FEB 9 (the last snapshot they made), takes you to:

Which displays the archived web page.

From there, clicking the download link takes you to:

Where a non-clickable Google Drive download link (that must be manually copied and pasted into your browser) is presented.

Using THAT URL:

will eventually get you to the Google Drive web page where you can then FINALLY download the actual distribution from.

It's a 79.1MB download, and *appears* to be the current d6.0a distribution, but not being that "up" on MTS, I can't say for sure. Only someone from the MTS group who is familiar with MTS distributions will be able to tell for sure.

I did not put it up; I suspect that members can't upload files (Dave Wade? yes/no?).

Ha. Even better: the PDF had a link in it pointing to D6.0A.ZIP in google.drive.

I put it to the files section of this group; it chews up a bit of our 1GB allocation, but I think it's important enough to warrant the dent in the DASD budget.

Bitsavers and deepblue have all the tape distributions, but not D6.0A (which is the one that is ready to rock'n'roll under Hercules).

I took the D6.0A media, configuration, and PDF of an old MTS Q&A page and put them up to as a stopgap. We'll find out if my ISP meant it when they said "There are no set limits on the disk space or data transfer (bandwidth) that we provide in our hosting plans."
