PL-360

I have managed to get PL-360 running under dos/vs.? If interest, I will upload a zip
file with all the code, manuals, and instructions.

Cheers

Hi Tom,

I think this sounds very interesting and I would certainly like to get my hands on a copy of PL/360.

Just out of curiosity; was it originally written for DOS/VS or has it been ported from a different OS e.g. OS/360, OS/VS1 or MVS?

Best regards,

Steen

Reading the links Joe posted...the original compiler was written on the Burroughs B5500, and by the time of the second one, it was running under OS, DOS, MTS, and Orvyl.

Thanks for the clarification. I had the impression that PL/360 was an IBM product.

Best regards,

Steen

it was available from IBM as a Type III program contributed by Stanford.

Don't confuse PL/360 with PL/S et al.

PL/360 has an Algol-ish syntax, and PL/S has essentially that of PL/I.
