BOS/360 run test

I found some curious behavior If I type? ADD X'00C'... up to SET DATE, I got 0I20I IPL COMPLETE message as expected but - if I paste the commands on teraterm window and press on keyboard last <ENTER> ... I got no message, just stuck there - if I type on hercules console:?devinit 00c .\jobs\ipl.jcl ascii eof, then on TeraTerm <ENTER>; instead IPL COMPLETE I got 0I18A SET STATEMENT NOT GIVEN Does Telnet needs a special setting? Richard Cornwell All Messages By This Member #158 Hi Roberto, Not sure what commands you are looking for. BOS is basically a DOS system without foreground jobs. Jobs are submitted via the card reader, or whatever is declared as SYSIPT. René Ferland All Messages By This Member #160 Roberto, I am not sure what you do with your TeraTerm console connection. I just tried it myself and it works perfectly fine. I changed two settings: Enter will send CR+LF, and local echo is activated. The IPL sequence from the card reader is: ? 1) start Hercules; 2) connect your TeraTerm console; 3) in the Hercules console: ipl 280 (Enter) 4) in the Hercules console: devinit 00c jobs/ipl.jcl eof (Enter) ? After that, you should (only) see the 1L02A message?on your TeraTerm console. The system is ready to run jobs. ? Cheers, ? Rene FERLAND, Montreal ?
Roberto Sancho Villa All Messages By This Member #161 Hi René Solved! I was doing two things wrong 1) Pressing <ENTER> on teraterm so input for IPL comands was set to master console. If you do not press <ENTER>, input is set to card reader on devinit 00c 2) I was typing on hercules ===> prompt "devinit 00c .\jobs\ipl.jcl eof" instead of "devinit 00c ./jobs/ipl.jcl eof". The backslash was confusing hercules Now it is IPLing Thanks Roberto
