Re: FW: [hercules-390] Interesting project I would like to undertake
I would also like to receive a copy of DOS/VSE 2.1 if it is available. Thank you, Crni

Re: VTP on DOS/VS 5-pack
Yes, this is all ok. I have standard docs 5 pack distribution. Master catalog is created and defined in STDLABEL. VTP is normally installed, but it cannot find master catalog.

Re: VTP on DOS/VS 5-pack
You must define a master catalog, and add the dlab and extent in standard labels. Gary The creator of VTP!!

4228I FILE IJSYSCT OPEN ERROR X'B4'(180) I am not sure which, in a CMS/DOS environment, part of the X'B4' error applies as all seem to be correct. The explanation below is the best I could find.....

Re: VTP on DOS/VS 5-pack
That is the return code from the open. You need a messages manual to determine the exact error. Sent: Wednesday, January 19, 2022 8:28 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [H390-DOSVS] VTP on

Re: VTP on DOS/VS 5-pack
Does this mean that VTP is looking for IJSYSCT at UNIT address b4? I don't have that address defined, where did it come from?
By Crni Mrki, DK4BN · #234 ·
Re: VTP on DOS/VS 5-pack
The 180 is the decimal representation of B4. Sent: Tuesday, January 18, 2022 11:03 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [H390-DOSVS] VTP on DOS/VS 5-pack But this IS the problem, it can not find

Re: VTP on DOS/VS 5-pack
But this IS the problem, it can not find IJSYSCT. *F2 4228I FILE IJSYSCT OPEN ERROR X'B4'(180)* What is meaning of (180)? Is it cuu addr of the unit? Is it hardcoded somewhere in the VTP software?

Re: VTP on DOS/VS 5-pack
You need to delete the labels for VSAMCT1 and IJSYSUC, leaving only the one of IJSYSCT. Ren¨¦ FERLAND, Montreal

Re: VTP on DOS/VS 5-pack
Hmmmm. I removed // DLBL VSAMCT1,'VSAM.USER.CATALOG',,VSAM // EXTENT SYS010,VSAM01 from stdlabel.jcl and submitted job but i still have error: 03 F2 // JOB VTP 04??? DATE 01/19/22,CLOCK 04/19/33 05
Re: VTP on DOS/VS 5-pack

Re: VTP on DOS/VS 5-pack

Re: COBOL COPY STATEMENT
Thank you all for the Answers! The reason for my confusion is that "COMPILE JOB GENERATION" from the FSLIST Option 8 (Compile) panel for source type "Map Definition" and Language "COBOL VSE" generates

Both A and E are used apparently. ?According to the documentation: ?E is the member type for assembler macros. These can be IBM-supplied or user-written macro definitions in an edited (partially

Re: COBOL COPY STATEMENT
The documentation of the Librarian (in the Guide to System Functions) indicates that, for IBM programs (including the COBOL compiler I assume), the source book member type C is reserved for COBOL
By Ren¨¦ Ferland · #222 ·
Re: COBOL COPY STATEMENT
It is resolved, member FILE01.A is renamed to FILE01.C and compile is successful. I cannot find in documentation any rule which say to copybook must be "C" type.
