User naming issue

Hi --

I have a strange problem with the name of one of our users.

This person changed their name some time ago, long before we transferred our
Yahoo group to groups.io.

This person's "display name" is set correctly on groups.io, as shown on the
web interface.

However, their old name is showing up in the messages that they send to the
group, in the "From:" header line. In fact, all of the entries for this user
in the activity log show the old name, even though the new name is shown at
the top of that page.

How is that happening -- i.e., how did the old name get irasferred to groups.io
in the first place -- and what can I do to fix it?

Any ideas, or should I send this to [email protected]?

Be sure to check the Display Name for the Group and the Display Name for the Account - they are different.
I just tested this and the Display Name for the Group is used in the From: field in the emails sent from groups.io.
If no Display Name for the Group is set, then no Name is added to the From: field, it only contains the email address.? And on the web, no display name is shown for the subscriber, for any messages (it shows the @username if that is set).

Hi, Dave,

Actually, I (the list owner for the group in question) saw this person's request and
changed their name earlier this morning.

The old name did get transferred from Yahoo and that's what kept showing up
when they posted.? But that should now change.
