Bruce;
I did all of that and there is no [email protected] as a member and no one has deleted them. I even checked the moderator & member activity logs and don't see any mention of a [email protected]. I was on top of this and checked right away when I received this email to promote them to moderator. Support needs to resolve this and not focus on the people who are paying the extra $200 to expedite their transfers. |

If it were me, I'd back up and carefully go through the detailed steps at /g/GroupManagersForum/message/19673? Many 'problems' are solved that way. Support is focusing on downloading YG data to save them.? Mark has said that downloading is his first priority.? Importing to GIO and other items can be done after that at "leisure". In your previous message (the one to which Duane responded) you also wrote: I even checked the moderator & member activity logs and don't see any mention of a [email protected]. Now if that statement is true then [email protected] was never even invited to the group in question. I know this sounds like a very silly question but are you absolutely certain that you haven't mixed up one group with another? The point here is that if the transfer agent was invited and accepted that invitation and so on there would be more than one piece of evidence of all that having happened, not just a single piece in one place. It would take quite a bit of effort for someone to remove all evidence of all that having happened. Time for a few deep breaths and a slow and careful reassessment of what you reckon has been done and where. Chris |

Chris;
How can I get an "easy group transfer" email which tells me to make the ([email protected]) a moderator of my Yahoo group to start the transfer process if I never invited to the group to join? Duane; That is what I'm trying to do is save my YG data! Over 15 years of group messages! |

Rather than continue to spin your wheels, it could be that you'd be ahead of the game to just delete the existing transfer and start over. Regards, Bruce |

Only one transfer and it hasn't started because I can't make ([email protected]) a moderator.

I'm the owner of my Yahoo group..
I have tried to contact Groups.io support numerous times and they are just ignoring me. Not sure what to do. Someone suggest to delete the transfer request and try to restart it. Just not sure how that works and if that would resolve my issue. Would I be able to re-invite and start over? |
Edward, I did all of that and there is no [email protected] as a member and no one has deleted them. It's a long-shot, but maybe try the browser ritual on your Y!Groups Manage Members page. The ritual addresses a kind of sync mismatch that might cause stale page data to be shown. ? I even checked the moderator & member activity logs and don't see any mention of a [email protected]. I don't know what your experience has been, but in several of my Yahoo Groups the absence of a log entry tells you exactly nothing. Some of the tabs on that page have stopped updating altogether in some groups, and in others new items add to the log hours or days after the event. I was on top of this and checked right away when I received this email to promote them to moderator. Support may be right that there's nothing they can do. They accepted the invitation, and if they can access the group as a member but not promoted to a moderator then they're stuck too. I don't know what to suggest other than to keep checking the Yahoo Group's members list, using Ctrl+F5 periodically to try and sync the data. Well I went ahead and deleted the transfer request, started a new one and sent a new invite.Edward -- Can I offer a suggestion? If you haven't done so in awhile, you might want to get in some "practice" for Step 4 by temporarily making someone else in your group a Moderator. It would be unfortunate to once again go through all these steps only to get an unpleasant surprise. Good luck, Bruce |

Someone in my Yahoo group?If you can't promote an existing group member to Moderator now, the obviously you won't be able to do it with the transfer agent later. That's why I'm suggesting that you find someone and try it. It's not going to hurt anything, and you can always change them back. Bruce |

You know I wonder if there was a delay with the initial transfer request that I deleted.
Now I have [email protected] as a member and was able to make the agent a moderator; but now my transfer status page shows the following. We've received the invite to your group and will accept it soon. There is no need to send another invite I think I should have waited cause there probably was a delay with the backlog. I hope the status will change so I can start my transfer. |
Glad your transfer is moving ahead.
