Requiring preapproval answers

I have been trying to find out if there is a way to require preapproval answers from people who want to join a specific group. I may be putting in wrong search terms. Can any of you direct me to this information? ?One of my groups is a golden retriever rescue group and I am getting 100 requests a month. It is very weird and I want to. prescreen.

I can think of two ways.? If it's not already, make the group restricted, then use the Pending Subscription notice to ask the question(s).? Until you get a reply that you're happy with, don't approve their membership.? Secondly, on a paid group, you can set up Extra Member Data fields.? You can make any/all of these required, but it only applies to those that apply to the group online.? There's nothing similar for those that use the email link.

For those preapproved required information anyone asking to join via email could get a email back saying they must apply online and provide information etc on what they need to do including providing that information.
