So I established the google drive integration into my group. And how can I now make a visible connection between the content of the google drive folder and groups.io?

I don't see Google Drives among the integration options. How did you do that?

You should be able to post a hyperlink to your Google drive somewhere within your group. The places I know of where you can put a hyperlink are the Wiki, in a Database, or on your group home page (i.e.: instead of a web site).

I requested other options for inserting URLs in the home page on beta a couple weeks ago, but I suspect our fearless leader has his hands full with the continuing Y!G mass exodus.

Almost forgot...you could also write a brief note containing the Google drive link and pin it to the top of the Messages display.

You can put them in your group's Description text by using the Insert/edit link tool in the formatting toolbar for the Description edit box.

Shal, that done, how can members use this and upload attachments/fotos there?

I hope someone else has an answer for you. I've not tried to integrate Google Drive into any groups. I've only used it a few times.

My initial reaction is that the files stored there would have to be made public, else the members would have no access (because Google wouldn't know who's in your group).

Victoria - To let people access your Google drive, you have to create a folder and share it.?

Once you set up a link address from the sharing dialogue you can put that in your GIO group as we've discussed previously. From that point forward anything you drag into the folder should be visible to group members via clicking on the link.

I know of no way to make the folder public so others can upload to it. Perhaps someone with more experience can help you with that part.

Hope this helps,
Bruce

Okay, it is possible to set it up so others can edit folder content. See attached screenshot.

Once you have that set up, click on the "copy link" button and paste that somewhere in your group.

Hope this helps,
Bruce

I hope it does help. Be advised of folder security, though. Anyone who figures out the link address will be able to mess with those files.

For that reason I suggest posting it in a secure location...one inaccessible to non-subscribers. Your home page is probably not the best choice, because it could show up in a search engine even if you don't have your group listed in the GIO directory.
