Combining Subgroup Messages/Archives into Main Group

Tracking and moderating our subgroups has become unwieldy - so I intend to "eliminate" the subgroups and simply rely on tags (which will be in line with the other platform our group uses) but wish to keep the subgroup archives. ?
I do not want to make it necessary for someone to have to "join" the inactive subgroup. ?As far as I can tell for now, the only way I can simply do this is to put the archived messages into files which main group members can easily access.
For the most part putting the low volume archives into files won't be too challenging but I though I'd check first to see if there is a way of "combining" the archived messages into the main group's archives which would be so much cleaner (from the user viewpoint).
Appreciate your thoughts.

There's no built-in way of doing this, but you can set the subgroup Settings->Privacy->Visibility setting to Group listed in parent group, messages viewable by parent group members, so this way any main group member can just visit the subgroup and peruse/search/etc that subgroup as normally.? You also set the subgroup to Announcement-only so its archives are "frozen" in time.? That'd be the least amount of work for the mods.

In this case, when one is perusing the main group and want to peruse a subgroup, they can right-click on "Subgroups" on the left menu links and open in a new tab, so this way they can explore the subgroup in a separate screen without affecting what they were doing or where they were in the main group.

If you have a paid group, you may be able to get Groups.io to move the message archives into the main group's message archives for a fee, that has happened in the past but I don't know how much it was.

Cheers,
Christos

No.? As you've discovered, subgroups are basically separate groups under the main group umbrella.? However, there is a setting for subgroups, under Privacy, that would allow you to set them to "Group listed in parent group, messages viewable by parent group members" so that no one would have to join to read.? You could set the subgroups to Announcement type and leave things there, but not allow additional posting.

Lots of detailed information can be found in the Owners Manual and Members Manual.

You guys rock! ?Thank you.
?I think the privacy and "announcement" settings will be the simplest option.
