Setting Reply to Sender as Default

My group was set to Reply to Group for messages.? I changed it to Reply to Sender, and then sent a new message.? I tried replying to the new message I sent and it still replies to the group.? And yes, I scrolled all the way to the bottom and clicked on Update Group.? Am I missing something else?
Thanks!
Ginger

The group setting changes two things:
  • the Reply-to: field in outgoing message headers (emails).
  • the default reply setting in the online message composition window?
Go to your group using the web interface and initiate a reply to an existing message. The buttons immediately below the message editor should look like the provided screenshot (i.e.: with a big blue "Reply to Sender" button at left). If it doesn't look like this, your group still isn't set up correctly.

Failing that, can you paste the message header into a message for us to review?

Am I missing something else?
Seems to work fine here, using both GMail and TDS webmail. However, it's been previously reported that some email clients do fail to honor this. Tell us what mail client you are using and maybe there's a setting that can be changed to make it follow the reply-to convention.

Hope this helps,
Bruce

Ginger -- A simpler explanation just occurred to me. Did you happen to click Reply All instead of just Reply?

Hi Bruce,
That does help! ?It is correct on the webpage, but my e-mail client still replies to the group. I¡¯m using hotmail. Do you know if there¡¯s a way I can change that in my hotmail account?
Thank you!
Ginger

Not surprising, really. Although it's a violation of internet spec RFC-5322, unfortunately?there seem to be quite a lot of email clients that fail this test.?

I¡¯m using hotmail. Do you know if there¡¯s a way I can change that in my hotmail account?
I'm not familiar enough with Hotmail to know, and a Google search turned up nothing. Hopefully there's someone here who actually uses Hotmail that can help you.

Meanwhile, you should still send us a copy of the associated message header (see ). No sense seeking a cure if we still aren't sure of the disease.

Good luck,
Bruce
