BT Email Routing Errors

The problem with BT email addresses (e.g. btinternet.com) being misrouted when sent from an email client to any dress with a "+" in it (for example [email protected] ) now seems to have been fixed. This matter was originally raised in this topic in the middle of September last year. BT contacted the original complainant to advise of the fix; this time he was actually right!

I have tried a couple of "+owner" emails on different groups and they worked correctly.

Chris ?

Did you by any chance check the headers to see if they're still using synchronoss.net as an intermediary?? If so, hopefully they patched all the servers.

Let's see:
This bug, which should have never existed, was reported to them in September, it was fixed over 5 months later.
I reported a bug on this site last night, it was fixed about 30 minutes later.

I think Mark has us spoiled!

I hadn't but have now, having not emptied the "deleted Items" folder this morning.

And the answer is yes, they are.

I have just been advised that one of my fellow group owners, who has continued to pursue BTinternet about their server mishandling addresses with a ''+'' sign inclided. This has meant that approving subscription and messages needed to be done on the web site to avoid notifications being posted to the whole group. He has checked and now agrees with information received from BT that the problen has been cured (it only affects admin done from btinternet.com or btopenreach.com domains )

It has only taked 6 months !
