Main group = Premium Yearly but all subgroups = Premium Monthly
#subgroups
#upgrade
A couple of days before the pricing changes were announced, I started the process of transferring my main group and several subgroups from Y!G to Groups.io. I upgraded my main group from Premium Monthly to Premium Yearly at the $110 rate then in effect. The transfer of the main group is proceeding as expected and its transfer status is "awaiting export from Yahoo." I also started the transfer process for each of the subgroups, but I have run into a glitch. For each subgroup, my invitation for [email protected] to join the corresponding Y! group has been accepted, and I have promoted the transfer agent to Moderator, but I can't get any farther than that. The Existing Transfers drop-down for the first subgroup says "needs you attention."? There is no green "Go" button on the Easy Yahoo Group Transfer Setup page. The gray box at the top of of the page says:
"We have accepted the invite to your group. Before we can transfer your group, you must upgrade it to the Premium Yearly option. Once you've done that, return here and you will be able to give the go ahead to transfer." When I click on the link to "upgrade it to the Premium Yearly option," it takes me to the plan page for the subgroup, and it says that my current plan is Premium Monthly. When I check the plan for the main group, it clearly displays it as Premium Yearly. All the subgroup plans display Premium Monthly, while the main group displays Premium Yearly. Until that is corrected the rest of my transfers are dead in the water. I posted a fairly detailed description of this problem about six hours ago to [email protected]. Understanding that the support group is not functioning normally at this point, I also posted the same message to the beta group (replying to the topic Migrate Groups to Subgroups) so that I could at least see that my post had gone through and possibly get some feedback from the other beta users. My message has not yet appeared in the beta group. Even though I joined the beta group over a year ago this is the first time I've actually tried to post a message so my "new member" messages are probably being moderated. Can anyone tell me if Mark is the only moderator for the beta group, in which case I may be out of luck. If there are other moderators, is there a way to ask one of them to approve my post? I have not yet sent this plea for help to [email protected] because, if Mark is the only Owner/Moderator, it would run into the same problem. Robert R. |

He'll probably notice it and approve it "soon". Duane,
I did go ahead and post my plea again on beta. It was still on moderation but Mark approved it and replied that he had fixed the bug. The pricing plan for the main group now properly "trickles down" to all its subgroups and I am now able to continue the transfer process for the subgroups. Presumably this bug fix will benefit others who took the same set of steps as I did to upgrade from Premium Monthly to Premium Yearly. Robert R. |
